The Pac 10 comes down to the Oregon St. @ Oregon game on Dec. 3rd.
The winner wins the conference and the right to face The Buckeyes in The Rose Bowl.

Who do you prefer to play?

Whoever we get, it honestly doesn't matter as neither team is a national elite program.

Ohio State is really in a no win situation. If they beat either team its because OSU is supposed to as they are a elite program. But if OSU loses it will be because OSU once again cannot win a big game while Oregon or Oregon State gets all the praise for beating a top program.

Oregon.

And they are a top program, basically #2 to USC in the Pac-10.

I really have little doubt OSU will beat either of them this year. It won't have much of a Rose Bowl feel to it with both teams coming in with at least 2 losses though.

If Arizona can score 41 on Oregon's defense, then wow, I like our chances against Oregon. And they won't score 44 aianst OSU's defense.

If everyone recalls, Oregon was in the final three for Pryor. After having watched both teams on TV, I'd rather play Oregon State. I think the Buckeyes handle them, but I'm not so sure about Oregon. I don't see Tressel ball working against Oregon, because the OSU defense won't shut down Oregon all day. The Buckeyes will be forced to try to score and not just run clock. That makes me nervous.

Really, OSU would be favored to beat Oregon???? I don't think so. Everyone in the world thinks Oregon is better than OSU.

^^^and that's just the way we want it--no respect and supposed to lose ;)
for the record,I'm not impressed with Oregon's defense, and they haven't played a defense like OSU's to date--should be a good matchup whomever we play--GO BUCKS!!!

Oregon might not of played a Defense like OSU, But OSU hasnt played an Offense like Oregon. I think it will be a really exciting game, that is if Oregon even wins vs Oregon State

Oregon is a better Michigan. They play like crap on the road, and are a primary running team. Oregon state is one dimensional running team as well. I am not afraid of either. I think our D could shut both teams down. Purdue almost beat Oregon at their stadium for crap sake. Stanford and Oregon ran all over Oregon too. Either one please.

Probably not a good example since Purdue did beat Ohio State...just sayin'.

Your offense only scored 14 against Michigan.

I'm a huge Buckeye fan, but I laughed at this one...good point. Not a very strong argument.

How much did they need to score?

Thank you as I was ready to expose this point as well. Also, I remember people making this dangerous ASSumption against LSU a couple years ago as well. We saw what happened. In other conferences that are better and of course with better athletes as a whole(and are familiar with each other), they can do this. Doesn't mean OSU, from a horrible conference, can.

Just to save my retinas, I'm rooting for Oregon State. Who knows what monstrosity Nike will suit the Ducks up in for the Rose Bowl if they make it.

My point is you can't expect to win because some other team put up 41 on them. I think you knew that.

I could definitely be wrong, but I would guess Ohio State and Oregon would be about a Pick 'Em game. I think Ohio State would be maybe a 5 point favorite over Oregon State.

ohio state would have been better served playing in the capital one bowl and getting that "sec monkey" of their back.

and yes, i realize "its the rose bowl" but unfortunately, playing against oregon or oregon state will not do much for the status of the program.

since when did OSU become a elite program? when they almost beat USC or almost beat texas? or when they got blasted by florida or LSU?

Or win they won the national championship (1-3), three straight BCS bowls victories that many people forget, 5 straight B10 titles, and 10+ wins for the past 5 years.

Ohio State is an elite program, there is nobody doubting that at all on the national level. They have had a bad string of losses, but I bet you would be a person that considered, up until this year, Oklahoma to be an elite program right?
