"They boast state championships, they boast playing all these top notch schools, but they do not produce the product they are advertising". That's funny b/c I think they have state championships and play top notch schools every year, including the ones in the playoffs. Since you're a supporter of IC I should explain that the playoffs are a state football tournament held every year around the time your guys are conditioning for b.ball.
Out of curiosity how many kids from IC are playing D1 football right now??? If you can say you have players playing D1 ball then that will obviously make other kids think they can do it too. Can kids look at the IC football program right now and say "if I play for this school I can play D1??? So again how many kids from Creek are playing???
What a kid does with his opportunity is his to take advantage of. You can't force a kid to play well enough to get a D1 scholarship. God SOS you are such a fucking moron, LOL.
Now wipe that jelly off your face and GTFO.
as for proof of the "made up stats", It'll be a cold day in hell before anyone talking anything HS football on this site can back up something they say with actual prrof. C'mon you don't see that by now??? You should get your proof around the same time the mouths on this site prove the recruiting that SHS and Mooney do.
Young Lad,
Once again you know not the shit that falls from your mouth... You are backing up what I said 100%. Its advertised (Especially on here) that Big Red produces D1 athletes. That would not be a lie. Its the Open Recruits that do not get those scholarships. Look at rollredroll.com an see just how many transfers have received scholarships in the past 20 years. I will save you some time... ITS TWO. Both of which could be debated that if they stayed where they were they would have STILL received those scholarships. So what does that say for Big Red??? False advertisement... The kids getting the majority of the D1 scholarships are born, bred, and raised right in Steubenville. The recruits are called in, based on so many players going D1 (only 2, and 2 good ones I might add) they are exposed to D1 coaches (Jim Tressel attends EVERY state championship game, not just the one Big Red plays in. He is looking at Sophmores and Juniors also... Not Seniors.) And they are wowed at a play-off experience.
So what has Big Red done for them that they can't do on their own? Its not a question of glitz and glamor, a Big Red uniform, a play-off run, a "possible" state championship... Its a matter of people saying that kids transfer to Big Red for scholarships and exposure when in fact they are brought in to make sure Big Red keeps making the play-offs and has a chance at a state title. There is nothing wrong with that, Its every high school football teams goal... But to say all that other crap is just what it is, crap. You can get into a D3 school pretty much anywhere you play in this valley and get money to help the costs.
Hindsight is 20/20. You spell it potatoe, I spell it potato. There are two sides to every story and this is my side. Do I care how these transfers decide to play for Big Red? No. Thats something we have all pretty much just said "it is what it is" and go about our business. I am a firm believer that if you play for Big Red you will get to play in the play-offs, you will get to play in a very nice stadium, you will get to play for the most decorated and best coach in this valley, you will in some way get to say that your from Big Red, you will play football at least at a D3 school... BUT... If you stay at your hometown school, and you work hard enough, and you BEAT Big Red, you will get noticed as well. Just ask Kettering Alter.
