Who's gonna start Reds fans?

John Fay seems to think it won't be Harang, and Maloney should be there just in case.

It would be nice if they called Volquez up, but Jocketty says it ain't happening till he shows a little more consistency getting past the 5th

They easily navigated the sponge-cake minefield (K.C./Seattle/Oakland/Cleveland) that was their interleague slate. Now the Reds return to the major-league portion of their schedule with two of the next four series against the Phillies and one against the Mets ... I just hope they don't awaken Dusty Baker's dumber impulses by calling up Gary Matthews Jr. to solidify the ... uh, team body-mass index, maybe? You watch: If Matthews gets back to the bigs, Dusty will give him no fewer than 15 starts and bat him either first or second. A run-production slot is a terrible thing to waste

I wouldn't think it'd be possible to throw Volquez anyway, he threw 2 nights ago in Louisville didn't he?

This game today would be a huge win. The Reds are finding a different path to victory every day. I think the players really think they can get this done. The Reds never seem to be out of a game because they are really scoring well and even against very good pitching. Pelfrey isn't exactly chopped liver. As far as Dusty is concerned, when I checked the standings this morning it said the Reds were two full games in front of St. Louis. I realize it is extremely early and I know that lots of things can happen from now until October, but right now I'm very comfortable letting Dusty handle the team. I'm pretty sure we wouldn't be in first place by two games if I was managing the team.

I wouldn't characterize the Reds 8-7 record(3-3 at home) in their 2010 interleague play as easily navigating the slate!

Other than getting swept in Seattle the Reds have done a great job with their easy schedule. They need to keep building their lead because the schedule gets real tough in early/mid August.

Standard lineup tonight with Corky in the 8 hole and TBA pitching.

I wonder what St Louis record was versus .500+ teams the year they 83-79 and then won the world series....or Minnesota's in 1987

Playoffs...you can't win if you don't play

btw...we could win the next 75 games and Dusty Baker will still have me skeptical...we have different players, mixed in with old players to get us where we are...Dusty will always be Dusty

Well the Bats called up Serrano to replace Maloney, so he might be the starter tonight. Not sure how 2 fairly soft throwing lefties will fair back to back. Not an easy task for him.

How sweet would it be to see Votto take Santana deep?

Great, I'll be at the game July 16th. At least MC Hammer will make up for seeing Harang.

so this makes Cueto, Leake, Wood, and Maloney in line to start against the Phillies. I can't wait to see what this team is made of in that series.

2 years ago, I would be very confident with Santana on the hill. Sadly, he is no longer a true #1 starting pitcher. Still a gamer, but his fastball has lost 3-4 mph, which has lessened the impact of his changeup. Should be good game tonight regardless, but not nearly the pitching mismatch that people think.

And Willie Mays Reyes pops up leading off a game again ... shocking, he rarely does that. Ughh.

Disappointing in that the Reds trusted(by bunting Phillips to 3rd) Votto greatly to get the run in from 3rd with one out to take a small early lead. But Votto failed miserably.

Santana helps his own cause and whacks his first career HR off of the right field foul pole.
