Worst decision ever?

FYI at one point there were over 500,000 Americans in Vietnam, almost 60,000 died, and in 1967-1968 they were being killed at close to 1,000 a month. At its peak there were around 150,000 troops in Iraq, with around 4,500 dead.

I'll say Lyndon Johnson and Robert McNamara's decision was 100 times worse than Bush's. But props for finding more ways to bash Bush.

If we leave Iraq, the Iraq that all your democrats voted to go to war with, we will be back in 10 years cleaning it up and it will be worse.

Just chill out and let things happen. It takes time.
YOu mean like how Bush 41 left too early and didn't listen to Powell or Schwarzkopf??

We've been in Iraq way,way too long and need to get the hell out

So fighting communism in a country that no one cares about is more important than removing a authoritarian dictator in a country no one cares about? I agree the invasion was based on false information and shouldn't have happened, but it 7 YEARS later, the country is stable, and Saddam is dead. 40 years later, Vietnam is still the Socialist Republic of Vietnam. 60,000 >>>> 4,500. Not to disrespect anyone who served in Vietnam, but those 60,000 died for a lost cause. Atleast Iraq showed some sort of victory.

And you don't want to bring up warmongering between democrats and republicans.
Lets look at the major wars of the 20th century...

LBJ - Democrat
Harry Truman (Korea) - Democrat
FDR(although justified) - Democrat
Woodrow Wilson - Democrat

Um.....

I'm thinking you left out a HUGE player in the Vietnam war...

Richard Nixon-Republican

What was FDR's war?? Oh yea..WWII.which we got into because the Japs attacked on of our military bases.

See,we had a reason to enter WWI,Korea, and Vietnam.

Iraq,no such reason

ES,

Actually, you couldn't be more wrong, for a number of reasons. I'll give you some of my opinions, which to me are facts.

1. I am a democrat, but a conservative. That doesn't make me a republican
2. I believe that eventually, the democrats will give me a strong and competent candidate that I can feel comfortable to vote for.
3. I didn't always agree with Bush, even though I voted for him. I think there was alot going on behind the scenes that we didn't/don't know about.
4. I think Laura Bush has beady eyes and I don't like her sense of style, although I will grant her the fact that she acted appropriately and dressed like the First Lady that she was.
5. I never really cared much for Rumsfeld and the sound of his voice sometimes drove me crazy.
6. You forgot Cheney - see #5
7. I really couldn't be happy with Bush during his last 4 years of his Presidency. But he's gone and I'm over it.

You really should do a little research before you spout off.

The US left Iraq during the first Gulf War because it was the agreement of the allies in Desert Storm that once Kuwait was freed, the US go home. It would have angered the entire Arab coalition if the US had proceeded on to Baghdad and ousted Saddam.

That was not part of the agreement.

To hell with them.

We should have gotten the little basterd then...then we wouldn;t have had to go into Iraq to finish the job Bush 41 was to scared to do

What are you meaning?

I can be a democrat all my life but still vote away from party lines from time to time. What does that have to do with anything?
I never bashed Michelle Obama and she wasn't even anybody I brought up.
I posted what was on my mind, according to the topics that you created.

Your statement claiming we have soldiers dieing every day in Iraq is false. We had (1) hostile death to date in Nov. (2) in Oct. (4) in Sep. and (4) in Aug. We had more hostile deaths at Fort Hood this month than the last 4 months in Iraq.

The USA currently has 57,000 troops stationed in Germany, 33,000 in Japan, 10,000 in Great Britain, and 10,000 in Italy. I was not aware that WWII was still being fought.

The USA also has 27,000 troops stationed in South Korea. No final peace. No active fighting.

Wait, wait...regardless of that, the real point was the money. It's hilarious that a liberal could post something about the war in Iraq and cite the money it costs but then support anything and everything Obama does. Now that is rich.
