Ok...

So I recently had a friend make his facebook status something along the lines of... "If I was in high school I would quote some song lyrics to show everyone how cool I am."

Today with so many lyric threads it got me thinking... is making a thread with a line from a song as a title and a few verses from the song as the body the same exact thing?

Are all the people who do this attention whores begging for attention in a high school like manner? Are they the people that in high school wore "short sleeve shirts under long sleeve shirts under short sleeve shirts?"

I don't have a problem with it every once in a while. The guy who posts a new lyric from Eminem's Recovery every single day is starting to bother me, though.

I was thinking this same thing. It seems like there are so many threads started as lyrics to a song. What's the point of that? Granted I'm not in high school or college any more but I think these types of threads are totally pointless and those that keep starting them are indeed totally lame.

haha, i guess i am that guy. not in highschool or college though. my status' are mainly song or movie quotes. i just dont care to post what i am doing at the moment on facebook so i figure instead of rarely having status updates, i'll do funny quotes or whatever. not to be cool, but because i dont take facebook seriously like some people. but on here though, i think it is dumb because i feel there is supposed to be conversation going on etc.

I've never understood someone starting a thread with the first line from some random (usually crappy 80's) song, and then people following up in subsequent posts with the next few lines of the song.

I don't usually have a problem with people occasionally quoting a line from a song in their Facebook status though. Sometimes a quote from a song sums up what you're felling better at the moment better than you could say it on your own. Not much different from quoting some famous person or quoting scripture in your status.

Yeah I will sometimes post a song lyric or movie quote as my facebook status. But not because I think its cool its normally just the song describes my mood.

LOL. This thread is about Zwick4Prez. Looks like I'm not the only one who thinks it's moronic.
