From looking at Joe's max/min's...
If Edison wins, they're the 5 seed (and everyone moves down 1 accordingly)... if they lose, they're out. That simple.

A Licking Valley win will probably bump them ahead of Salem, meaning the Quakers would be headed to Sheridan.

They are the 5 for now, everyone else moves down from what Joe has. Edison can still take the 5 tomorrow with a win and knock everyone down again.

Meaning Salem's either at Big Red if Edison wins or Sheridan if Edison loses since Licking Valley won and will jump over Salem

This. I unfortunately missed the scenario involving NC and Granville regarding Edison and LV.

I'd like to see Minerva get in, but more than that I'd like to see Dover be at #8.
I prefer the trip to Alliance and would like to see Marlington play. And if Dover's not at the top of the heap to begin then I'd like us to have a shot at beating the best right up front!

Neither Marlington nor Big Red will be easy. If Dover plays like we did against Coshocton we'll have our chance against either.
We've seen Steubenville of enough the past few years. For me it's really not a "Oh my god I don't want to have to play them" thing. If we end up going 1 and out I'd prefer the opportunity play Marlington. I've heard a lot about the team and respect what they've done this year.
Big Red has a tremendously successful football program - but that's what it is, a successful football program. It's not a showcase of local community talent and that's what high school athletics is (or should be) about. That's what separates high school sports from college and pro sports. No matter how successful they are in the win column, I just don't have the same respect for teams (be they private or public) if they are built through recruitment and open enrollment.
Last year when we played Steubenville some friends went over to their side to watch the band shows. They were verbally asaulted and pelted with debris. Years ago, when we played them in the regular season, adults had to protect the band when they returned to the buses because pieces of concrete block were being thrown at them. It's certainly not many of the Big Red fans that act that way, but it's too many!
So...in a way, you are right...I 'don't want to take the trip to Death Valley', but not for the reason's you may think.

Sometimes the truth is hard to defend. I was a chaperone w the band in the late 80s and was sent to the hospital with two of the band members that were beaten in the bathroom during the third quarter.

Football is Football, stuff happens and not all fans are equal. Drive on. I for one would rather play Marlington, just to see how good they really are. I live in the local area and all I read about is how good they are. Death Valley is Death Valley, been there done that. Awesome place for a HS football game. Unfortunately the results are aways the same for us, loose....We may have better luck against the Dukes. Plus our strengths are there weakness, both on O and D.
