The government needs to take over the computer industry so this doesn't happen again.

Article is really biased. You know how many computer manufacturers sold computers with those faulty caps? A LOT. What do most people do when their computer shits out?

They go buy another.

My Dell hasn't really given me that many problems.

Well unless the motherboard (2x), the video card, the speakers, the fact that its slow as shit, it needs defraged every 30 seconds and stuff like that count.

I will never buy another one of these P.O.S. again. But just my experience. I also have the only Honda in the world that doesn't want to make it to 150,000 miles so I could just have bad luck.

Dell's customer service and quality have fallen off a cliff in recent years. Only a sucker buys from Dell these days. There are better values out there.

Actually, no. I agree HP used to be garbage, but HP has improved considerably and is rated quite well these days both for service and quality. Thinkpad, Sony and HP are the top tier and all pretty comparable on price and quality these days, with Asus also getting strong reviews.

I did get a good deal on NCAA Football 2011 through Dell, hopefully the game isn't defective.

Still vague. Define "basic"

Examples of games, perhaps?

I'll have to disagree...I've had mine for about 2 years now and it's still running great and have never had any issues with it. *knock on wood*

If I had to choose between HP and Dell I would choose HP. I use HP at work, before that Dell and the Dell systems were awful so my office switched to HP.

This is a decent deal:

I didn't look very hard though.

Also, it's stupid to bicker about which brand of PC's are better. They're all built with the same parts from the same Asian suppliers. It really boils down to customer support and whether or not the computer looks aesthetically pleasing.

All electronics die sooner or later, and computers are no exception.

Yes Apple, I'm looking at you too.
