It is a little too much to ask when you look at the length of the trip, the places they are playing, and the pitchers they will be facing. 11 game,3 city trips are tough. They are playing against the Cubs, who despite being in a funk, are still pretty tough at Wrigley (only 19-20 this year). Then they go to Citi field against the Wild Card leaders who are 28-12 at home. They then finish with the 2 time defending NL Champs who are 22-16 at home.

Barring any changes to rotations, it looks like they will face....

Randy Wells (3-6)
Ted Lilly (3-6)

Mike Pelfrey (10-2)
Johan Santana (5-5)
John Niese (5-2)

Kyle Kendrink (4-3)
Joe Blanton (3-5)
Roy Halladay (9-7)
Cole Hammels (6-6)

I'm not saying that all those guys are great or have been great. But, you have two guys that have each won multiple Cy Youngs (Halladay and Santana), two guys having two of the better seasons in baseball right now (Pelfrey and Silva) and a World Series MVP (Hammels).

That is why 8-3 or 9-2 is just too much to ask. I would love to see it happen, but I will accept 5-6 and be happy with anything 6-5 or better.

Expecting to go 9-2 on a road trip against that competition/SP is beyond unrealistic, it's asinine.

We've already beat Halladay this year, and the other 3 don't really scare me right now.
