Immigration policy has been horrible since the nineties. You can thank NAFTA for a good part of that.jhay78;868829 wrote:Gov. Jan Brewer always has a little something nice to say whenever the subject of Obama's disastrous immigration policy comes up:

At least when Barry lied....nobody died.Writerbuckeye;868297 wrote:You knew it was only a matter of time before his true colors on immigration became more obvious. He blatantly lied about healthcare reform not covering illegal aliens, and a certain S. Carolina Rep. got his ass chewed out publicly for shouting, "You lie" when he said it. Now we know the truth -- Obama did lie.
That and now refusing to deport illegals are just more examples that he's deliberately ignoring the things he swore to do when he took the oath of office.

Barry's only perpetuating the original lie, allowing more to die, and lied about getting us out. In fact he's added Libya to the perpetual lie.Footwedge;869333 wrote:At least when Barry lied....nobody died.

And it was encouraged by certain members of the 111th Congress standing and applauding a foreign leader lecturing us about our policies, horrible or otherwise.
A wise man once said, "If the majority of illegal aliens crossing the Mexican border were potential Republican voters, you can be certain the Mexican border would look like the Great Wall of China". Although both parties have been horrible with illegal immigration, one party has an incentive to flood the southern border with future devotees of their political ideology. It's why states like Nevada, Colorado, Arizona, etc., which used to be solidly Republican, are now either run by Democrats or are swing states.

It's funny that W had no problem at all with illegal immigrants, don't you think? And to think he got re-elected. I am personally dead against the pouring over our southern borders by illegal people. Dead against it. But there are piles and piles of these people who vote Republican. Those that think otherwise listen to people like Limbaugh a tad too much.jhay78;869603 wrote:And it was encouraged by certain members of the 111th Congress standing and applauding a foreign leader lecturing us about our policies, horrible or otherwise.

W had no problem with amnesty for current illegals, but I think he was a little more serious about the border than the current administration. But not serious enough, in my opinion.

Is anything other than amnesty truly practical? Just do it and be done with it. THEN crack down on the border and make sure those who got amnesty are paying their taxes, and that their employers are playing fair, as well.

Sounds good but that's like telling the Feds it's OK to raise taxes now for the possibility of implementing real spending cuts later.gut;869772 wrote:Is anything other than amnesty truly practical? Yep. If Obama wants some basic stimulus: pay about a million unemployed Americans to drive trucks filled with illegals after they've been rounded up by Immigration. Pay them a good wage round trip from wherever they start in the US -- to Mexico -- and back.
Then secure the damn border, even if you have to use returning troops (or troops brought home from shrinking the US presence in Europe) to man it. Use some well positioned drones in areas known to be used by the drug cartels...

Remember the call to civility by Barry during his Arizona speech after the Giffords' shooting? I notice he's not saying too much when his buddies use words like Frederica - http://www.theblaze.com/stories/rep-frederica-wilson-the-real-enemy-is-the-tea-party/
Or when Maxine tells the Tea Party to go to hell - http://www.washingtonpost.com/politics/maxine-waters-to-tea-party-go-to-hell/2011/08/22/gIQAjgEeWJ_story.html
Or when the Tea Party is called terrorists by our Vice President of all people - http://latimesblogs.latimes.com/washington/2011/08/joe-biden-china-terrorists-politico.html
Rick Perry says Bernacke is near treasonous for wanting to flood the economy with money during a presidential year and he's raked, scolded, berated, disdained, impugned, and derided by Barry and his Agitators - http://www.guardian.co.uk/world/2011/aug/16/rick-perry-ben-bernanke-treasonous
I'm all for being virtuous, but it has to go in all directions. Otherwise, it's just political hacking and the next time Barry lectures anyone about offensive political discourse, he will have zero credibility as he approves it with silence when people on his side resort to it.

They missed the worst part of the quote by Ms. Waters. After telling the TP to go to hell, she then threatened "And I intend to help them get there."
Sounds like a death threat to me.

Waters is a crazy, evil bitch. She played a key role in ruining the lives of millions of people with the lack of oversight on Freddie and Fannie, and continuing to push for mortgage lending to people who basically don't qualify.

Maxine also said she "intends to help them get there". That can mean only 2 things:
1) veiled death threat, or
2) she intends to assist in the election of Democrats everywhere
I'm guessing she meant #2, but can you imagine Paul Ryan, Eric Cantor, or any House Republican of any significance saying anything like that about their political opponents, say, union leaders, or Hollywood, or academia? The media's silence about Maxine furthers the assertion that they are all hypocrites.

This probably deserve its own thread, but it fits nicely with a thread involving "disgust" and "Obama administration".
Joe Biden "understands" China's one-child policy, which of course involves forced abortions, sterilizations, and a myriad of other repulsive human-rights abuses. Now his main point was to argue against the policy by pointing out its unsustainability, but once again Biden shows off his inner doofus and decides to open his mouth:

Why would the bolded words even come close to coming out of your mouth if you really believe "such practices are repugnant", as Biden's office claimed?"You have no safety net. Your policy has been one which I fully understand -- I'm not second-guessing -- of one child per family," Biden said, according to the official transcript of the event. "The result being that you're in a position where one wage earner will be taking care of four retired people. Not sustainable."

jhay, that's Joe Biden being Joe Biden, he's a gaffe-a-minute. the comment came after a Q&A where Biden mentioned human rights yet said nothing about the one-child rule, yet paints himself in a corner when he turns a question about the U.S. economy into the Chinese economy into a ridiculous statement.
Again, that's just Joe Biden being Joe Biden, that cheeky scoundrel.
