Stephen A Smith could tell me Barack Obama is our President and I probably wouldn't believe him.

Well, a few of the words in Gibby's quote were capitalized, so I'm guessing those (in particular) were screamed.

Stephen A Smith....

GTFO

He has as much credibility as Helen Keller does for American Idol.

Smith wrote on his Twitter account, "I believe I have all the news on LeBron James and WHERE HE'S GOING." And he later wrote "I don't GUESS with news of this magnitude." Smith is plugged in throughout the NBA, but we're not ready to take his word as the truth. After all, free agency doesn't begin until July 1st.

So who are we supposed to believe? A GM that has all the info or SAS who had ALL THE INFO?!?

I'm surprised he can actually read stuff posted on the internet since his mouth is usually firmly planted on Tim Tebow's weiner.

LOL^

gibby was saying it's a done deal to Chicago, BUT like I said, we'll see those types of reports EVERYDAY until he signs somewhere.

So far, it sounds like his heart is stayin in Cleveland, his johnson is heading to NY, his legs are going to NJ, his head is going to Miami, and his torso is heading to Chicago. That's the only way it could happen. He's only one man, but yet, he's going to all these places per sources. It has to be in pieces. All these people with "sources" just have opinions. They think he'll go to a place but they'll throw out that sources word and run with him.

Exactly^

He could be going anywhere (I still think it's Cleveland) but NOBODY knows but him, and I'm sure he doesn't really know for sure yet either.

I think he's got it narrowed down real well (Cavs, Heat, and Bulls), and maybe already knows where he wants to go if certain pieces fall into place. But even if he does, that information would not be known to other guys in the league-- I don't care if they're the GM of the Pacers or who the hell ever.

If he stays in Cleveland...he doesn't wanna win. Cleveland had their chance this past season to win..and they couldn't get it done.

BR...ohh that one hurt. But I guess I'll have to take it,because Mr."I'm a former pro wrestler,and I think I'm tough,so listen to me because I'm right"

Right, because the Bulls have done so much good in the NBA since the end of 1998.

No, not at all. You're one of the biggest fucknuts on here. You know ABSOLUTELY NOTHING about sports and you post shit like this just to get a rise out of Cleveland fans.

And WTF does being a former pro wrestler have to do with anything? I did it. I retired from it 8 years ago and I'm done with it.

Exactly. Out of the major players in the Lebron sweepstakes the Cavs are the ONLY ones that have made some serious attempts to improve their roster.

They improved their roster so well over the past couple of years that they have zero cap flexibility. Your definition of "improve" isn't the same as mine, or the rest of the league. Chicago and Miami didn't take on terrible contracts, nor did they sign anybody to crazy contracts and now they are both going to be huge players. Ask Lebron and the free agents how much they care about the Cavaliers' attempts to improve. They just want to know how many people a team can sign

You cant argue that the Cavs have made more moves than the Knicks, Heat, Bulls etc. Cavs needed to improve their roster and thats what they did. It sucks that it didnt work out but they have shown that they will work to improve the roster.

Mo Williams was an improvement
Jamison was an improvement
Parker and Moon were improvments

What the Cavs did was the definition of short-sighted. Lebron had them by the balls and they felt like they had to make something happen. (They did). However those other teams knew they weren't winning a title, so they laid back, didn't take on garbage contracts, and put themselves in a great situation for the free agents. Why does Chris Bosh care about the Cavaliers "trying"? He doesn't, this isn't a Lifetime movie. Those guys will all continue to care about themselves and where they can all get paid.

Exactly. They had no choice. It was all or nothing for Ferry last season. Where did I say that Bosh should care about Cavs attempts to improve their roster? I just said that the Cavs were one of the only teams that did. I will never agree with tanking for 3 straight seasons like the Knicks did. It could work out but it could also backfire in a big way. IF Miami isnt able to bring in another guy that team might be the worst in the NBA. I know it looks like they will probably be able to get somebody but nothing is set in stone yet.

Exactly and LBJ is the reason they are in the situation they are now. First, he only signs a 3 year extension so he puts Ferry under the gun to have Gilbert buy a championship with "quick fixes" and then he (Lebron) pretty much hand picks/ gives his "blessing" on the players that failed.

To be honest, I do want LBJ to return to Cleveland but NOT under another 3 year deal. I want to see them BUILD something here. If he signs for 3 years it will be the same shit over and over again.

If by some miracle he does come back to Cleveland, there is zero doubt in my mind he will have a straight 3 year deal, or a 6 year max deal with an opt-out after the 3rd year because if he hasn't won a title by that point, it will have been 10 years and he will get the hell out of here to sign his last big max deal at age 28.

Although if we think it is bad now, Lebron coming back on another 3 year deal in Cleveland will create a level of constant paranoia the likes of which we haven't seen if there is no title in these next 2 years as everyone will know that the last year will really be the shit or get off the pot year, so Chris Grant had better stock up on Depends because the pressure will be crazy intense to make a title happen knowing Lebron will otherwise be gone that next season.

On Lebron's end it makes sense to do short deals because it keeps you from ending up trapped somewhere like KG was in Minnesota for the prime of his career but really never a legit contender to win a title. For the organization though it just creates chaos as you spend you nights sleepless knowing Lebron has a walk year in the not too distant future and you don't have the luxury of time to build anything since you need an immediate payoff or he's gone.

Miami will get their guys. It's Miami and they have Riley and Wade. Miami might not get their #1 choice, but they will make their team much better. Riley did a phenomenal job their!

The Knicks are actually in a pretty good position even without Lebron. Hell even if they strike out on the biggest stars this offseason, they can go after Carmelo next year.

The Cavs are handicapped. The moves they made did not pay off and they have no wiggle room now. They just have to hope that the pieces in place are enough for Lebron to think he has a chance at a championship, which I personally don't think they do.

Cavs are handicapped in the sense that they cant sign a free agent. They still have options via the MLE and sign n trades. I know their position isnt as attractive as Miami's but they arent dead in the water.
