AND, thank you for the "kudos". I know that I ticked off a lot of people by my pre-game stance. Trust me, there was a little "method to the madness". I am elated with the win and Sooooooo looking forward to next week's encounter. For the two trolls that like to jump on here and throw their darts. You had a big win tonight and congrats. Now we see what it is.

Method to the madness...that's BRF in a nutshell.

5knots,
dont know if #10 earned the job tonight (although I'd give him the early lead if we're calling this a race)...but I do think that a qb will emerge by the start of the OCC and we'll go with that guy for the rest of the season.

The Triway thread is up.......

I'm sure he'd say thank you..but he stayed up WAYYYY past his bed time last night, so he's probably still sleeping.

Good luck to the young man. You hate to see someone's season - especially his/her senior year - cut short.

He'd help for sure...but I'd rather have him for weeks 3-10 (and hopefully beyond).

I know its not good to look ahead especially with Triway looming, but I heard from a coach today who has scouted Copley twice and he said they are "super" fast and they also like to spread it out with 4 and 5 recievers and throw it all over the field.

This is one of those years that Copley is real good. Deucie Turner is their main back, only a sophomore. They were young and inexperienced last year, but not this year. And it's at their place...will be real tough.

We always play them well, but might be a year where they're too good.

Let's not put the cart before the horse though....

Get to 2-0 and a win over Copley would be gravy....then we get to go to Lex.

These first 4 games are no picnic, and probably a tougher Week 1-4 start that 98% of D-4 schools.

That's why the win over NW was so big....it's still possible we lose the next 3....even if we play well. We could easily win all 3 too. Last week didn't answer any questions in terms of where this team is going. Tomorrow will start to show if it's more than potential.

I think Copley is more a run oriented team. Here are stats from week 1 http://fridaynightohio.com/gamereview/1771. Never the less they will have speed.......no more than we do but they will have speed.

Pirman will be suiting up and given some PT. Pep Rally tomorrow. We need it. You wouldn't believe the number of students who don't know anything about this game, nor do they care. I saw a little freshman boy today with a t-shirt that said "my internet was down today so I decided to go outside".

Remember Jackson was 0-10 last year and Copley ( 6-4) beat them last year also, so stats from a poor football opponent are misleading, such as Mansfield Sr won 58-8 over Tol.Woodward, but Woodward was winless last season and only scored 8 points all season total so they have equaled last years point already, so what do stats say?

GO BUCKS, almost kickoff, time to go watch.

The sad truth.....Triway beat Orrville, at Orrville...in 1975.

Say it ain't so. :(

Handwerk, Scott, dewitz, Pack were all freshmen that year...the riders took their lumps but the next three years lost only 2 games i think.

And for that bump in the road Orrville beat triway 17 TIMES IN A ROW , and had to print up t-shirts when they finally won :) , that certainly doesn't sound like a rivalry, more like TOTAL DOMINATION :)

Just like old times last night. Boy that felt good....that one was for a faithful Red Rider fan Blaine Smith who also has an allergy to purple. We will get better....we have to...it doesn't get any easier. We haven't even seen Max on the offensive side of the ball. Another lethal target for lichti and a big body blocker at TE. You never want to see injuries but they happen..what it sometimes does is force a Coach to play some kids he had questions of their ability. Last year and this year we have had kids prove their worth and how well they can contribute on Friday night. That will pay off down the road.

Copley recap: Copley 38, Cleveland JFK 21 Junior Lou Gigliotti threw for 330 yards and four touchdown passes to lead the host Indians (2-0) over the Eagles (1-1). Gigliotti threw two touchdown passes to Shawn Taylor and also found junior CJ Chatman for a 59-yard bomb. Taylor caught six balls for 159 yards and Chatman also caught six passes for 120 yards. Sophomore Aregeros Turner rushed for 70 yards and a touchdown for the Indians. Go Riders!

Who thought we'd start 2-0? i didn't.

Need to play with that attitude each week. Scary how good we can be if Lichti continue to improve and our defense can play lights out at times.

That's all you've got to say, RR1? Awww..I know, you are just enjoying this day and relishing that we are 2-0 and beat Triway last night, like me! Remember last night at half time when Pitman said he was surprised at how we were handling them? He was genuinely shocked. And then it got worse! As 5knots would say.....that's because you were in OUR house! Bah ha ha! I keep thinking about the "hurries" that #88 put on their vaunted QB. He wanted no part of that business. What a great day!

I thought it was funny how carmichael was getting so upset last night. When you play that schedule and have better athletes than the other teams, it is pretty easy to throw screen passes and get those kind of numbers. I would like to see how good he would be if he played in a true passing offense not a spread screen offense.
