RR1...I agree I hate that play for the same reason. It was obvious when we were running it because we were in the shotgun and Mason was lined up as a slot and I think both times he was lined up on the left. Lets hope it was just a "dummie" play, cause it's not working.

I like throwing that short pass to Mason and then letting him rip thru arm tackles. With Tre, Mason, and Davis's speed and their ability to break tackles, we have a potential running attack that should be fun to watch!

I'll just say it: I don't think we are going to be very good. And when people start trumpeting how good this or that little 9th grader has been looking, it concerns me further. I would rather start the season with low expectations and hope that things blossom. I think we are going to have our hands full tomorrow night.....and next week, too.

Oh, I forgot say, I think we should play some good old WCAL style football, too.

The Riders may or may not be very good, but to say that they will not be good before any game is played is not any more fair then me saying we will win the state title. BRF many of these guys played last year and remember the teams we are playing graduated good players also. We are not the only team to have player turnover. There is very good talent on this squad and if they can execute together as a team, stay healthy, and coaches can make play calling adjustments this team will do ok.

I hear ya, Go Riders. It's just my opinion. Maybe I just might be low keying it instead of pumping these kids up so much. Face it, look at what we have compared to last year. Maybe if any of them read all this blah blah, they will accept the challenge to go out and do the job. Yes, there IS talent on this team, yes we need to stay healthy, yes the coaches can make "adjustments"....and then we will be "OK". Prove it on the field.

From my perspective...which was viewing most all 2xdays and scrimmages (didn't see you at many BRF) this team has as much to offer as last year's talented class. we have a very experienced o-line, 2 RBs as good as anybody we will face, receivers with size/speed/jumping ability to give any DB concern. Defensively we will miss Max tonight, you cannot just go find an extra Big Ten player on the sideline. We have the formidable task of replacing Chase Hoobler. But we can put LBs on the field who all have sub 4.6 40 yard dash speed. I think we will be a more than competent foe for any opponent and I cannot wait for tonight to find out!

Hey guys, it will be good to see you guys tonight at the game. After seeing Massillon take the nosedive against Buchtel last night, you never know whats going to happen when you are dealing with kids 14-18 years old. On paper you can say this team looks this way and that team looks that way, but until you put the pads on and start executing your plays, it is all just conjecture. It will be interesting to watch this game, because Northwest lost Jones, the #1 passing QB in Stark County, and Evan Bach, who I still thought was one of the best all around football players in the state last year.

Good luck, Riders. Hopefully you score as many points as the number of times we've heard about the number the kids you have with sub-4.6 40's. ;)

I hope we score as many TD's as we've had to read how many times the Titans are going to be the "greatest show on turf" on their way to the state championship. :)

But that's next week. Hopefully both come into the game 1-0.

One? By the Plain Dealer? I got a good laugh out of that, too. Haha! See you in Orrville next week. We've never won there, as you well know.

Now I am reminded why I hate anything purple. If you are tired of reading about the Riders, then troll on someone else's thread or stay on your own! This is an Orrville thread and my house cannot wait for a chance to get revenge. You cannot imagine!

LoL. Someone cannot take a joke. At least RR1 and I can jab back and forth in fun. Yes, I CAN imagine how badly you want a win. Talk about NEVER getting a win in Orrville. Talk about wanting it...

Coach Lee just has high expectations for our team, and I think his excitement is easy to see and is contagious in some instances. We shall see how the season unfolds. Here's hoping you can take care of Northwest tonight. I see the DR picked the Indians 6-3. Prove them wrong, and bring those victories and harbin points back to Wayne County!

Haha. We're on pins and needles in Titan Country, too. Well, I am... itching to avenge last year's 21-point 4th quarter West Holmes had to beat us. Ugh! Nothing I say or do can change tonight's outcome, so I'll just hope for the best, I guess. :) Good luck!

The beauty of the Harbin points for us Rider fans is that we can still care less if your mighty titans win or lose....we can get the points either way. Life is Good!

So you can get 2nd level points from us for tonight's game even if we lose? Now THAT is some Star Wars-caliber talent! ;)

BRF- I too am taking the approch of show me on the field. We have some very good talent but something just has not looked "right" yet. Yes 5knots I have seen both scrimmages and I have concerns. I think that there was plenty of work to be done by the kids and coaches this week. I hope they did it.

I will leave my thoughts on the future state champion Titans for a later date.

Good luck to night Riders!! Could not aske for a better night to start the season off.

Well, this is Orrville and it is all about show me on the field. I agree 100%. We have question marks...I agree. But using the same theory....we are Orrville! so don't throw us under the bus just yet. Tonight, every High School football team fields a team with some newbies in some spots. We are no different. NW is always good...even when we have won it was very close. Tough test right out of the gate should give us an idea of where we are. I, for one, am hoping we strap it up and take it right to them......gotta stay healthy and that part worries me a bit.

Wow you guys have been busy over here...

Really have some high hopes that the Riders will come out the gate and put these Indians in a big hole in a hurry tonight. I too think that they look as good as last year, yea sure the Big Ten player sitting on sidelines would have been a huge help but there will be plenty of football left when he returns. Play hard, stay healthy and bring this one home Riders!

We play both of you so all we have to do is beat the winner and get those points! Although a triway win could give us half a point more following next weeks Rider win :)
