Yes you have and that was the first thing I thought of when I saw Bucher's tweet. You've been mentioning a 3 year out for awhile.

This really puts them in no better position than before if he has this clause. Sure they will have him but the pressure will be there to find specific players versus building a team.

When you look at the two pitches we know about, NY and to a degree Chicago, I feel pretty good about him staying (I always have but these solicitations are pretty, well, funny) Chicago, though bold isn't a bad route imo, but pretty damn transparent. NY, in light of he fact that James has said repeatedly he wants to win is just about as lame as they come. Although, coming from NY, where image is everything not entirely unexpected.

Cavs have no choice, but it is a nightmare for management as it forces you to do more deals like Jamison and Shaq just to show you're trying.

They have significantly turned this roster over 3 times in the past 3-4 years, and you can't build a team like that as you never really build continuity.

There is absolutely no way he resigns in 3 years if they haven't won a title, because it will add credence to the idea you can't win a title in Cleveland. Knowing that, the paranoia level will become unbearable heading into that 3rd season if it hasn't happened, and makes it really hard to win when you are pressing knowing for sure he is gone if you don't win it that last season.

It makes the most sense for Lebron as he guarantees himself the 6 years of money in case something happens to him physically, but the short commitment hamstrings the organization unfairly and almost makes it harder to win.

Shaq and Jamison deals were good deals imo. Did they bear fruit? No, but given what was available at the time worthy of note. Shaq was injured, Jamison was used shittily and had NO time to gel w/Shaq. It happens. What do you do? Explain it to LBJ and move on. Period. He's no dummy, he knows this FO is bending over backwards to bring him and Cleveland what he desires the most.

I agree with the three year deal though, tough on management.

I hope that wasn't really the Knicks powerpoint. I have a hard time believing with all the promotional companies in NYC that they couldn't come up with something better than that.

I don't think it's a terrible angle, just the one not at THE top of LBJ's list. What do really expect from NYC?

Although it does make sense in a way to pitch it that way. The Knicks can't really sell championships the way Miami and Chicago likely are. They needed to differentiate themselves.

Now Broussard has joined the party in saying that the momentum is building for Lebron to stay.

Also says Bosh's top 3 are:

1) w/Lebron in CHI or NJ

2) Miami w/Wade

3) S & T to Houston

Bosh's list seems 100% logical.

Chicago and New Jersey both have a all-star caliber point guards and solid centers, and since they have cap room can give Toronto the trade exception they really want because of the flexibility it gives to help the roster.

If he can't play with Lebron, Miami is the next most likely scenario given the relationship he has with D-Wade. That roster is a long ways away from being competitive though, and Bosh and D-wade will eat up alot of the cap space they have that they have to put an entire team together with.

Finally Houston is his home state, and with a healthy Yao they could easily be a 55-60 win team with his addition. They also have some pieces that Toronto might be interested in for a sign and trade if Toronto comes down off its ledge about essentially not wanting one if it isn't basically for the cap exception.

And the thing about it is that Toronto WOULD accept Cleveland's offer first over the others from what Broussard was saying. But Bosh doesn't want to come here. I don't think that Bosh is a "must have" (frankly I'd like to see them pry CP3 but that's a pipe dream, for now) but he's an idiot for saying he won't play in Cleveland because he wants to build his 'brand." Since when does Bosh have a "brand."

Agreed. That thing was atrocious. I thought it was a mistake that they listed the pros and cons of each team. Why would you do that? Just talk about you and your situation. I thought they should have went more to the global icon approach like the Nets.

And how the hell does he expect to build his "brand" playing with Wade. Either way he will be in somebody's shadow, unless he goes to Houston. Even then, I don't see him building a brand without winning a title, which I don't see him doing without LeBron or Wade.

As for the NYC presentation. Looked like a HS presentation.

You have to put yourself in a non-Clevelanders shoes for a second. If you are a free agent with no ties to the city (like Lebron) why would you come to Cleveland over a big city like Chicago or Brooklyn (as of 2012 at least)? He has been off the map up in Toronto, and if I wasn't from this area and had my pick of where to go, I probably wouldn't be rushing here either quite frankly.

If Lebron wasn't from Cleveland, would they have been in the running like they are? Probably not. So to someone like Bosh I can see how life in the big city is more appealing than staying coming to Cleveland, because realistically were it not his home town Lebron wouldn't be choosing to come here either.

I think the other part of it is an ego thing. He doesn't want to come to "Lebron's team" just like I am not sure he will end up in Miami because it's "D-Wade's" team. He clearly has a high opinion of himself and his value, so the idea he is willing to pair with them, just not on their teams is entirely possible. Bosh's self worth has been defined by Toronto, if he ends up as "the guy", unfortunately he will be disappointed. He's a good player, but he's short of well rounded. Hell I have second thoughts of him as a Cav just based on his "average" D. Not to suspect he couldn't improve, but dominant thus far he has not been. It will be a focus in Cleveland.

The more I think about it the less I feel Bosh is the lynch pin that seals any deals. I think those around the league know what they might be getting in him, a young guy, with an offensive skill set, average D and what appears to be quite an ego. That's JJ Hickson without the ego...well kinda...lol.

Cool video.

It really is amazing how great Lebron is. He really is the best player I have ever seen, and I know he doesn't have a team award, but he sure as hell will get his, and you can take that to the bank.

??? haha Bosh is JJ Hickson with the ego? I don't think you have watched enough basketball my friend. If Hickson was a free agent now he would not be getting the kind of offers Bosh is getting. Furthermore, Hickson barely got on the court in the playoffs. Once again I'd say Bosh would be on the court.

It's one thing to say "screw Bosh" because he doesn't want to play in Cleveland, it's another thing to suddenly act like he is an average basketball player and you are happy you aren't getting him

Who said Toronto would accept Cleveland's offer first? I've heard many say that Cleveland just doesn't have the pieces that others have to offer in a S/T. Bosh knows that if he plays in Cleveland, he will never be looked at as a star. He would be joining Lebron on an established team, rather than taking an average team to the elite level. Plus, why go play with Lebron in Cleveland when he can play with Rose in Chicago or Wade in Miami?

Bosh is the same age as Wade and Lebron, so it's hard to classify him as young. He is proven in this league and I hope when you dropped the "lol" you meant that that whole statement was meant as a joke.

I would argue that he's better than Gasol. He is the top PF in the NBA right now, but no one gets to see him play.
