Well if that's the case, Lebron isn't going to Chicago.

The same Chicago owner who broke up a Dynasty, all because he didn't want to pay MJ and Pippen. So why would he want to pay LeBron, Bosh, Noah and Rose.

+1.

The Bulls owner did nothing BEFORE and nothing AFTER MJ, Pippen, and Phil left.. In fact, the Bulls have been pretty terrible.

NY isn't stable enough, imo.

the only legit team (again, this is my opinion) that I could see LeBron leave Cleveland for would be Miami..

However, I do not see that happening. I think for the integrity of the game they have to stay on separate teams. Lebron and Wade need to stay rivals to help the NBA along.

I'd love to see this happen:

LBJ and Bosh in Cleveland
Wade and STAT in Miami
JJ and Boozer in NY
Kobe and Pau in LA

That WOULD make the NBA so much more exciting. The Knicks wouldn't be a true threat, but they would now at least be a respectable team with a good duo.

Miami, Cleveland, and LA would all be heavy weights.

In fairness that was before there was a salary cap.

In 1998, Michael Jordan made $38 million his last year in Chicago (equivalent to a $49 million dollar a year deal in 2010 dollars) and wanted a big raise. He and Pippen would have cost the team more than the entire salary cap is for now.

Paying 3 max guys is no big deal for them, and they will do it in a heart beat. The situation with Jordan is not applicable anymore because it was in the wild west salary era, and the idea of paying $40-45 million a year(which is what he was looking for, and equates to a present day star getting $53-57 mil a year) for 1 player was more than Reinsorf could handle. That can't happen anymore, so its not something I am sure Lebron is going to worry about.

The ownership thing is a nice angle, but in 10 years the global Lebron brand he is trying to build will be in the toilet regardless of who his owner was if he is not winning championships. Titles are the only thing that will get him the prestige he wants, which is why he needs to put himself in the place that gives him the best chance to win.

Call me crazy but I just don't see Lebron going to Miami either with this supposed "three headed monster" of LBJ, Wade & Bosh. I think that Lebron wants to win titles but will his ego allow him to play with these guys?

He may be the best player (debatable) on the planet but if he teams up with those superstars I think he can kiss his chances at future MVP's goodbye. On a team THAT stacked, I think voters would look elsewhere for their MVP unless he was averaging something ridiculous like a triple double.

Plus having THREE max contracts on the team won't help a few years down the road.

EDIT: Didn't read through all of the posts on other threads but ESPN said this morning that Bosh, Wade & LBJ met in Miami over the weekend to have their "summit."

The inner circle of James are pushing their own agenda's to make $$$, plain and simple.

There was another laughable article on ESPN about Bosh/Wade/LeBron meeting in Miami (did happen) but it basically said LeBron listened but won't commit to Miami. Just won't happen and it was funny because it said Cleveland doesn't have the assests to land Bosh. Well in this typical S/T, Cleveland has more than enough assests because the trade is going to be so lopsided anyways.

Toronto wants a S/T, Bosh won't let them go empty handed and Cleveland has set themselves up nicely.

LeBron and Bosh in Cleveland.

I do not think that Lebron has ruled out Cleveland and I really do think he wants to remain in Cleveland. I just personally think there are greater opportunities to win championships elsewhere. I just don't really see how he can resign in Cleveland and then think he will win a championship in the next 2-3 years.

No matter what happens, Orlando is still good. The Lakers are still better. If Wade and the Heat can bring in Bosh/Stoudemire and another quality player, they are better. Oklahoma City will take that next step this year. The Bull will bring in someone else to improve their team.

So you then have maybe 3-5 teams who are as good or better than the current Cleveland team with Lebron.

Read this on RealCavsFans and thought it was somewhat applicable here:

This is a serious question. How can these reporters actually publish this stuff? Has the age of the internet completely ruined real journalism? And if so, how can we ever trust any word that is printed ever again? In the past month, I have heard of so many sources and insiders that say different things, it's either a couple people (for example, Wes) planting information for their own means, or it's like the Delonte story - I heard from a friend of a friend who was sitting in a plane that read over the shoulder of a bald guy...WTF?

This has gotten out of hand. The only thing that keeps me sane is the thought that Bill Simmons has a file on his computer collecting all these articles and will write a scathing 10,000 word article about the lack of integrity of the reporting and how it's diluted the fans' love for the game.

I hope some of these guys get fired for all this.

In his defense, and from all accounts, he sounds like a really good guy. Of course we don't know and not many speak of him on a personal level, but Broussard was talking about him the other day and made it seem like he's a really cool guy and that's why he gets respect. Not saying he doesn't have his own agenda, but he seems to get a bad rap even though he seems to actually be looking out for his "buddies".

I have no problem with a guy writing an article saying why a certain team is a better fit than others. But when guys like Jalen Rose or Stephen A. Smith get on their podium and declare it's a done deal to a certain team, it's sad.

I dont know. If the Cavs bring back Lebron I still think they are a top 3 team in the East. A move here or there could totally change things. Cavs still have the MLE and possible sign n trades to improve their roster.

I don't have inside sources, nor have I been following the latest news, I just tend to think that Bosh is just going to Miami or New York. He doesn't seem like the type that will agree to play in a city like Cleveland. After all, he seems like he is always complaining about Toronto. Not that there is anything wrong with Cleveland, I just think that he is the type of NBA player who has to be in a big city with plenty of partying

I thought those "Bosh doesn't want to play in Cleveland" rumors were just that--rumors? I thought I saw a few days ago that he came out and said he would play in Cleveland if that's what was best for him.

I'll say why, there are too many other teams that can offer more than what Cleveland can offer. I understand that Bosh can say, I want to go here so go work out a deal. But the Raptors can also say, no, we don't want a S/T with them.

The Cavs can offer Hickson and Williams. That's not a bad deal for them, but I just don't know if that's enough.

Look at a team like Oklahoma City. They have a young nucleus with a bunch of young and cheap talent. You put Bosh on that team, and they get a lot better. It's just an example of a team that no one is talking about, but I would think has a lot more potential and would be a good fit for Bosh.

this is how i feel.

i'd rather have amare at this point because he at least seems focused on winning, not where he's playing. I really wish the cavs would have just bit the bullet and gave up JJ for him (if that in fact was the hold up on that deal) this past deadline. I'd be shocked if the cavs keep LBJ AND add another superstar of any type. I just don't think the stars are lined up right to get a guy like Bosh/Stoudemire/Johnson/Wade/CP3.

You don't think the Raptors would be okay with receiving Jamison, Hickson, Delonte/Williams, and a 2011 1st round draft pick and sending Bosh and Marcus Banks (dump his contract) to the Cavs in a sign and trade? I mean they are gonna lose Bosh, that is assumed. So they need to try and get the best deal for him right? What other deal would be better than this? Hickson, despite a pretty weak playoffs, is going to be a very good player; Jamison is a 20-10 guy; Mo would be their 2 or come off the bench, and then you get a first round pick. I mean that's potentially 3 starters and a 1st round pick for a guy who is about to leave you anyways?

Bosh has all the leverage though. He can tell them where he wants to play and they'll have to work out a deal. If Toronto decides to get stupid and try to go it alone without Bosh, then yeah he will probably have to look to a team with a lot of cap. I think that would be a colossal mistake by Toronto though. Who is going to sign with them? Nobody of any relevance. Their best bet is to trade for some talent. Hickson would be an ideal type of player to get.

The Thunder? Come on. There are maybe a handful of teams that have a legit shot at landing Bosh. OKC isnt one of them.
