The reason I asked about the proper technique is because last year a ball was hit my way and 3 or 4 guys were screaming FORE over and over... I bolted for the tree line and I actually ran a good 20 yards away from my position only to hear the damn ball wizz right by my left ear. I could feel the breeze off the ball. If I would have stayed where I was, I was in no danger... I ran right into the path of it.

I simply don't yell unless it is going to at least startle the person....but if I yell....it's coming close.....take cover! You hear it too much and you tend to ignore it.
I was about 140 yards away from the guy I hit and I imagine he had about 2 seconds to move...maybe only 1 or 1 1/2 by the time he thought about it. Gotta be aware of others!
