awesome......can't stop the snot bubbles
I woke up early....took off the the golf course to walk 18 before the crowd of 4 and 5 somes. I teed off at 7:30 and played the front 9 pretty quickly and get to #10 (first person done with the front 9) As I begin walking after my drive on #10 the up hill par 5 (I'm walking and carrying my clubs) at this time I notice two guys in a cart getting ready to hit their 2nd shots on #11 a par...they obviously jumped in front of me....no biggee as 2 guys in a cart are surely as quick as 1 guy carrying his clubs........not so much. I walk all the way up #10....play #11 and go to #12 a par 3 and they aren't to the green yet on a Par 3????? They are standing down near the green...see me and wave me on......after they wave me on one guy goes and gets 2 balls off the green and the other guy picks up his ball and both go back towards the cart about 20 yard off the green.....now that they are looking I go ahead and hit......I hit my brand new 7 iron ( I hurt my wrist yesterday and simply could not stay down today)as soon as I hit it I realize it is half of the necessary height and slicing hard.....I immediately yell "LOOK OUT, LOOK OUT" and the guy for whatever reason stopped watching me hit and the guy turns around facing the back of his cart and the ball skips off the cartpath and drills him in the ass......he bends over backwards and limps around writhing in pain....walking towards him I keep asking....YOU OK?.....Finally he acknowledges that he's fine but you can tell he is dying of pain. I apologize (once I composed my snot bubbles) about 5 times and he assures me he's ok and not to worry about it) They talk about putting down a lot of beers today and I move on to #13 and really couldn't compose myself the rest of the round. I shot an 80 and gave some guy one hell of an ass mark I imagine.
I can't stop picturing it. lol
Moral of the story.....don't jump in front of others....and when you wave someone thru.....WATCH THEM HIT......I guarantee he will from now on.

Geez, you're right.....sorry Zwick.....I'm the Dumbass.....lol
That being said, Ironman shot an 80...so he's obviously played some golf. When you're going to hit someone you don't yell "look out, look out".....it's golf etiquette to yell "FORE"....lol

....he moved as soon as he heard my yell....FORE would not have made him go back in time 6 seconds to watch what would happen with my upcoming shot or know to move quicky to the right or left
What I yelled immediately had nothing to do with the outcome.
The biggest mistake was not watching my shot....the next biggest mistake was me not keeping my damn head down on my 7 iron.
Golf etiquette does not include teeing off the back 9 in front of someone who just finished the front.
I've played a lot of golf since age SIX....I'm now 35...I've not yelled FORE or any warning call 10 times in my life....and I never miss that par 3 to the right...both caught me off guard but there was no hesitation on my bellow...and no hesitation on the bullseye's part.
How did I not laugh in his face.....I had to fight it the whole walk of the hole and really couldn't look at him once I got close....walking away after the hole I was never more amused after bogeying.

That's the freaking club I use slcoach.....I tried to hit it easy....but hit the middle of the ball. Playing twice a year for the past 10 years is a little tough on my iron distance...driving is good, chipping is good and putting is great....so I shoot a lot of ugly 78's with my iron swings......maybe you could coach me up?

Just screwing with you big guy! I could have used an ugly 78 Sunday. Shot 81 in the first day of the Franklin Valley Open and was tied for 5th in C flight. Sunday didn't work out so well.

I was playing at Phoenix for a buddy's bachelor party probably 4 years ago. I think we had 3 foursomes and were playing some kind of game, not sure if it was scramble or what. I don't remember which hole it was but it was a slightly elevated tee box and some hacks from a hole coming back towards us was hitting their ball back into their fairway. One of the fucks chunks one about 25 yards into a fairway bunker on the right side of our fairway. They are taking long enough where two of our groups are now waiting on the tee. We had been drinking all day, and one of the guys gets impatient and says he is gonna hit. What do you know, he hits a laser directly at the bunker, half of us yell the other half just watch in amazement. The ball hits him on the fly in the collar bone while he was standing in the bunker. He fell over backwards as if he was just sniped. The guy who hit him and his brother who was the bachelor drive up to check on him and apparently he was going off about wanting to sue and was trying to get their information so he can send his hospital bill too him. Our guy says no and tosses him a beer then drives back to the tee box. Guy picks up his ball out of the bunker and heads for the clubhouse. Was the funniest thing I have ever seen on a golf course.

I know you were coach....I played Tuesday with the guy who lost the B flight with a 78-74....got him by 2 on the front 9
I remember years ago when I was in the championship flight.....was paired with Doug Ison and John Gagai and they each shot 67......I shot 78 but redeemed myself the next day with a 71....back when I didn't need a 7 iron on 12....though it takes a shot to get there however you may do it....I've done it with a Ping Zing putter before the pond was there.

I've never seen anyone get hit with a ball, but have had one come into my cart and bounce off of the seat once, while driving towards my shot. i imagine that if i'd have hit him, i'd have had to just get off the course because there is no way i could stifle my laughter to say anything to anyone for at least 30 minutes afterwards.

Once in high school while competing for a spot on the team I drilled a drive but it went right pretty hard and hit the side of a brand new wood house and it made a sound of a cannon going off....none of the 4 of us could even finish with our typical game and the sight and recollection of the sound makes me smile 20 years later.

I've only hit one guy before. He was driving his cart up the fairway toward the green on a par 4 and I am waiting on the tee box. I decide that he has advanced to practically the end of the fairway and he is going to keep going until he gets to the green. Wrong. Dumbass stops about 50 yards short of the end of the fairway (I watched the two guys both make the green) and I hit probably one of the best drives I have ever hit. Perfect little fade that faded right into his cart and the guy gets drilled in the back. I probably could have yelled 'Fore', but I'm not going to take my eyes off probably one of the best shots I had hit in my 2 years of playing golf at that point.
What did he do? Fucker stole my ball. I didn't ask for it back lol.

Thirty-two years ago I saw a buddy absolutely rope a 4-wood.... unfortunately another buddy of mine walked out from behind a pine tree and took the shot in the right rib-cage. He absolutely dropped to the ground and we all thought he was a dead man. He was knocked out and he had the wind knocked out of him... he slowly came to and got his breath back. He could not swing for a few days, but all in all he was O.K.
The following week we were playing in a Junior Tournament... same kid was standing on the back fringe of a green watching his fellow competitors and sure enough... A guy from an adjacent tee duck snapped a tee shot that drilled him in the leg. He was fuming, walking around throwing his glove and ball while saying "Fuck, Fuck, Fuck, why does this always happen to me." I was coming down a nearby hole and caught a little of the aftermath... couldn't help but laugh after seeing he was O.K., which of course brought the obligatory FU from my buddy..... good times.

Have you ever noticed that when you yell FORE, most people stand straight up and look for a ball? If I am yelling FORE, it means get your ass out of the area QUICK.
What exactly is the "proper action" when someone yells FORE? Run for a tree? Stop, drop, and assume the fetal position? Dive for the cart?

I hate it when people don't say anything and the ball bounces like 3 or 4 yards from you... that really gets under my skin.
at least you seemed to have played welltoday. STarted out Par/Par and it was downhill from there
