Honestly, it isn't like they are dominate....they could have very well lost this series. Kobe is still top 3 in the league, but age is creeping up on him. I can see them having a shot at it next year, but that is it.

They have been to 3 Finals in a row and won 2 of them in a row. Thats pretty dominate. Repeating is the hardest thing to do in Pro Sports.

Yeah, probably bad wording, but I consider the Laker teams with Shaq and Kobe dominate teams. They were pretty much guaranteed to win it every year. Now, there are several teams right there with them(depending on what happens in free agency).

No shit? Isn't that the only thing that ever stops really great players/teams? I think most people believe they won't win the next 3 titles precisely because they'll be older.

But who cares, Lakers aren't the rightful champs anyway. Michael, Scottie, and the Bulls' crew would still be running the NBA if they magically never aged.

Not a lock at all. Didn't most people say Tiger was a lock to break Jack's major record?

Kobe will be 32 next season. Odom and Artest 31, and Gasol 30. Bynum turns 23 in November, if he continues to emerge and can ever stay healthy for a whole season he will be a beast. If they get the point guard situation figured out they have a 3-4 year window they could legitimately expect to maybe win titles as everyone will still be under 35, and that is the age at which the Bulls (Jordan/Pippen/Rodman) were still winning titles.

They will be better next year than they were this year next year as Artest will be more comfortable in the triangle, Bynum will be another year along and Kobe will have a chance to get surgery on all his ailments to get healthy.

This Lakers team was very good to great, as that Celtics team dismantled the Cavs and Magic who looked like world beaters until they ran into Boston. To beat them after the role they were on coming into the series was something special.

I agree with wildcats. i think this team can contend one maybe two more years. after that, i dont really see them doing much, even though it depends on the moves the organization makes.

Man Kobe has a lot of wear on his body...he will is Jordanesque...but does Artest and Gasol have that will....does Lamar Odom...will Phil return.

That was the most exhausted I've ever seen an NBA champion....but kudos for gutting it out. Kobe and Gasol and Fisher were shot.

23 year old Bynum is more injury prone than 32 year old Kobe Bryant. That's sad.

Hardly a lock like the others posted before me Fisher isn't getting younger Kobe has alot of miles on his legs as well. The big key is Phil Jackson if he decides to retire or comeback. If he comes back then I could see maybe 1 more title & that would be about it to be honest.

Plus free agency will be a huge factor as well if 2 of these "Superstars" decide to join forces then that throws a monkey wrench the the whole Lakers have the NBA on lock debate.

if those two superstars join forces and they dont take a pay cut, the rest of their team will suck

There will be some quality mid-level exceptions out there to be had.
