i remember some guy did this a few years ago. he was rock climbing and his arm was crushed by a boulder. he used a multi tool or something and cut his arm off to get free.

That guy came and talked to my high school a few years back. Definition of bad ass. He is a guy that wouldn't make an impression on you either if you just saw him walk down the street.

They reference that guy at the bottom of Page 2 of that article.

I think it was all done in vain....the police showed up and he didn't even have the arm off yet. Maybe it saved his life....but after reading the full article...maybe he should have waited another couple of hours.
