This looks like a situation where the police followed procedure and happened to not be a sniper while running with a taser.

I do have a problem with how reviews of police behavior are done though. They shouldn't be done by police, let alone police that work at the same damned station. These people know each other, are often friends, and have a vested interest in the department not looking bad. There should be a third party to review things like this.

Although this kid is a jackass that got what he deserved.

Wouldn't all your minds be blown if it turns out he didn't steal anything?

He did in all likelihood in this case. But that's why I think that court reports should be published but police reports shouldn't.

Even if this kid were to be found not guilty he's already gotten plenty of character defamation out of the situation.

I'm not saying he is innocent. He is almost definitely guilty. I just don't like that the public has a presumption of guilt when it comes to people.

When I see someone reading the police reports I always here people say "well did you see so and so stole/whatever from x store?". I hate that people assume the police reports contain the factual truth.

But yeah, the kid is an idiot for running especially if he was innocent which he probably isn't.
