Subtract Manute and add Gheorghe Muresan and you got a hell of a lineup.

and when that lineup would still fail to win an NBA Championship sq_crazies and sleeper would still complain and say Lebron has no supporting cast.

Uh no. Gordon Gund doesn't own the Cavs any more buddy.

I'm not even going to guess, except I will say our SF will be LeBron James.

Gilbert and Grant are going to do their best to flip this roster. We may have a guy like Ellis, Stoudemire could be re-visited, who knows...

My response was sort of tongue and cheek. Especially for those like chs_redskins that posted the lineup he did. Does anyone honestly believe the Cavs can retain LeBron, sign Ray Allen AND trade for Chris Paul and Emeka Okafor and only lose Hickson, Williams and West?

lol, I got you.

I used to think CP3 would be traded, and I thought we had a 10 or 15% chance at getting him. Now, they have a perspective billionaire minority owner looking to become the majority owner. I doubt CP3 is traded now as money won't be an issue in New Orleans.

Ray Allen is a possibility, but very unlikely now.

It is possible we get a guy like Bosh, as long as we take on a bad contract like Calderon or Hedo.

But that's why I made no other predictions aside from LeBron. This Cavs team will be different, by how much I'm not sure of.

We aren't going to get Chris Paul or Ray Allen.

We will get Lebron and that's all that matters to me.

pg conley @
sg parker
sf james
pf randolph @
c przybilla %

off the bench anderson varejao, boobie gibson, jamario moon, jawad williams, danny green, leon powe and tyson chandler^

@ zach randolph and mike conley traded to cleveland for mo williams, jj hickson, delonte west and sebastian telfair - kind of unrealistic (but much more realistic than the op's trades) but might allow memphis the opportunity and money to build around gay, gasol and mayo
% przybilla signed for the mle
^ chandler traded to cleveland for antawn jamison - might be a long shot but charlotte needs more scoring and might be willing to part with chandler in order to get jamison's scoring and "tarheel-ness"

gets some fresh faces in there and allows us more flexibility in the future...probably (definitely) won't happen

without lebron, basically get rid of jamison, williams, gibson and varejao for expirings and shoot for the top pick in the 2011 (and hopefully 2012 and 2013). easier said than done but without lebron, it basically needs to be blown to all hell and started over

we will get LeBron back, but if we can't I would like us to sign and trade him for a #1 draft pick.

I just thought about this yesterday in wasting some time at work. Haven't checked all the contracts to make sure they match, but they have to be close:
1 - Trade cash and rights to Kid Congo to T-Wolves for #16 overall
T-wolves have 3 1st rounders and can make some money plus get a young guy with some upside
2 - Trade AP, Moon, West to Golden State for Anthony Randolph and Corey Maggette
Warriors would like to get rid of Maggette's contract (i think this is more realistic than Monta Ellis, although they were upset with him over getting injured off the basketball court) and Cavs can get a young, long athletic 3/4 in the mold of Chris Bosh.
3 - Sign Wally Z and package with JJ Hickson and trade to Sixers for #2 overall and Elton Brand.
Sixers would love to get out from under Brand's contract and are reportedly packaging the #2. The Sixers could buyout Wally. Cavs draft Evan Turner
4 - Use #16 overall and draft Xavier Henry
5 - Use MLE and sign Brendon Haywood
If you can deal Mo's contract great, but can't see it happening.
PG - Mo, Boobie, Telfair (if not traded to help match salaries)
SG - Turner, Henry, Jawad
SF - LBJ, Maggette, Randolph
PF - Jamison, Brand, Randolph
C - Haywood, Anderson

Does this team win the title next year? It could. It would take a great effort from LBJ and a couple young guys to step up. The best line-up might be with LBJ at the 1 allowing LBJ and Turner to share pg duties ala Jordan & Pippen.

But, this team would be set up for the future, and only get better year after year with Turner, Henry and Randolph improving. Then starting in 2011/2012 the Cavs would have expiring contracts starting with Tawn.

I think Haywood would be an excellent addition! I wouldn't be crazy about Randolph, as he's the same player as Hickson. Also, I don't know if it's worth bringing on Brand's contract just to get Turner. I personally would think they would be better off not doing that deal.

But I appreciate the creativity in the above post.

There is no way in hell the Sixers would even think about that deal. That is, if it is even possible.

I actually think the Sixers would, they need to unload Brand and would have to do something like this to get someone to take him off their hands. There is no way that Turner is worth bringing on Brand.

Now if we were talking about Cousins, that might be a different story.
