Interesting description from the AP.Cleveland then grabbed Ole Miss left-hander Drew Pomeranz, the Southeastern Conference pitcher of the year with the Justin Bieber haircut and a 90-94 mph fastball.

On a Pirates blog I go to, they mentioned Pomeranz as a potential Pirates pick (possibly the "unnamed college player" you were mentioning). They said he might not have Taillon's potential upside, but is the safer bet. The one thing that worries me about Taillon is the fact that there is a HORRIBLE track record concerning high school pitchers drafted early in the first round, but when your organization is where Pittsburgh's is, you need to roll the dice to attempt getting a future ace, as most of their TOP pitching prospects are in the #2-3 starter range at best. Which is better than the five guys we currently have who range from mid-lower rotation guys to good AAA organizational filler.

Hoping this young man from Dover will be selected today in the 2nd or 3rd rounds. Really a good kid.

Tribe selects LeVon Washington. CF/2B that the Rays took in the 1st round last year, but couldn't sign. Supposed to be very fast with range to play CF, but not great arm strength. Teams also question his energy from day to day. Obviously talented if he was a 1st round pick last year, just a question of signability and work ethic.

Pirates end up with Stetson Allie in the 2nd pick of round 2. Good pick up for the Pirates. Hope he doesn't get an attitude and demand 1st rounder money. Next big time player from NE Ohio to get drafted will probably be Derek Dietrich. SS/3B from St. Ignatius who spent the last 3 years dominating at Georgia Tech.

Scratch that I am a little behind. Dietrich went at #79 to the Rays!
Here is the scouting report on Washington, the Tribes second round pick. Strengths: Hitting ability and speed, Weaknesses: Arm and defensive ability. Probably going to move to second base.

Pirates take Allie in the second round and then Mel Rojas Jr., speedy CF in the 3rd round
I think we're back!
If we can sign any of these guys
