Just got Froyo today and it definitely helped speed up my phone. It was going painfully slow for about a week so this was a relief.

Nah I had to get a refurb one with my warranty because the lock/power button jammed on the Droid I got in November. I just received this one a week or two ago and figured I would wait till I got the version from Verizon before I mess it up and go through another phone.

just got the 2.2 update OTA. havent had a chance to play around with it yet, just got the update on the way to work last night. minus the internal software update, so far just noticed the 5 screens and new tab at the bottom of the home screen, which i think is useless because the buttons are so small and too close together.

Yep I got the update yesterday as well. I hate the how I can't just go straight to my alarm clock setting now :(. But other than that I like it. Havent really seen to much of a difference in the speed but it is a little faster.

I noticed that last night when I put it on my multimedia dock. I do like how its not as bright though.

Got mine yesterday, already found something that pissed me off. Pandora does not work well with Google Maps/Navigation. I use Pandora everyday, and Google Navigation about once or twice a week for travelling. Before, Pandora would just cut out while the Navi shouted directions, and then fade back in automatically. Now, Pandora just pauses and I have to manually unpause the damn thing.

Not cool. I know it's something small, but I was used to it working a certain way and it's a friggin pain in the ass to have to look down at my phone and hit the play button every time my phone gives me directions. I'm sure this is Pandora's issue. Anyone else experience this?

Another change I noticed was the 'Update All' button when you get updates. That's nice so you don't have to update every freakin' one of them one at a time.

That is pretty kinda sucked for me then because the day before I got the update I had to update about 20 of my apps lol.

one thing i dont like is you cant go from ringer, to vibrate, to silent using the volume button. it just goes ringer to vibrate, or ringer to silent(with or without vibrate depending on the settings from the sound menu). i use all three options, so its a pain in the butt now.

I have to say, both mine and my stepson's Droids run like complete shit with the update. Can't connect to Wi-Fi, slower, and task-killer doesn't kill apps worth a damn. Not only that, video runs like shit. I'm pissed and want my 2.1 back, dammit!

Oh, and of course Verizon has no fucking answers to the problems!

just get rid of the task killer, it ends up using more power than the apps it is killing. just goto "running apps" and kill them yourself.

I have noticed that Android devices after an OTA version change (1.5->2.0.1->2.1-> etc...) run much better if you do a factory reset.

Looks like there is an Evo-like phone coming to Verizon...it looks like a beast...
http://www.boygeniusreport.com/2010/08/27/evo-ish-htc-device-verizon/

This may be the first phone on verizon that I would prefer over the Dinc....I am not impressed with the latest Motorola phones.

That is a really nice phone.

I'm a little annoyed with the 256meg ram in the Droid, but other than that I'm waiting for an LTE phone to upgrade. The target for LTE handsets is May 2011, but hopefully we see a good one by March.
