Cabrera leads off with a double. It sems like he really gets on a lot when he leads off a game. Then a sac bunt by Cairo gets him to 3rd with one out, bringing up Votto who has failed a couiple times lately in this situation by trying to do much, going deep in the count and then not getting the RBI. This time he doesn't wait and knocks in the run on the first pitch. 1-0 Reds after their first AB.

Where are electronically called strikes and balls! Arroyo had a strikeout for the 3rd out on a 3-2 pitch in the 4th to Bernadina with no one on. Next batter, Desmond, hits the first pitch off the top of the LF wall to knock in a run making it 2-1 Nats after four. Balls and strike calls are the most unfair part of umpiring in MLB today!

Arroyo got thru the 6th with just 81 pitches, but Stammen has used only 60 pitches in six innings and has a 2-1 lead.

Stubbs leads off with a good leg hit, Miller pops up on the first pitch, Arroyo bunts Stubbs to 2B with two out, bringing up a good RBI man, Cabrera. Stammen taken out in the 7th with only 66 pitches and leading 2-1.

Cabrera pops out on the 1-0 pitch from Storen to end the 7th. Reds best chance is to keep it at 2-1, then get a couple runs off Capps in the 9th with some right handed pinch hitters.

That is the 2nd time this series that Stubbs makes the catch and is not prepared to make the throw when he catches it. Is the LF not telling him that the runner is tagging? Lets the insurance run get to 2nd without making the best effort to get him!

Arroyo gets the big 3rd out in the 7th, striking out pinch hitter Willie Harris on a breaking ball in.

Arroyo pops up a very hittable 3-2 pitch, with Phillips on base and 2 out, to end the Reds 8th.

Excellent job by Arroyo to close out the 8th with Morgan on 3rd and two out. With Dunn up, you figure he'll pitch around him with 1B open, and it looks like it with two quick balls, but then he throws a breaking ball for a strike in, and then pops him up on the 2-1 pitch.

Ringleman makes the move of the series, staying away from Capps and using Clippard to get Nix out, then bringing in Capps. You can't give Capps an easier chance at a save with ne out and none one with the 7,8,9 batters due, and guarteeed no lefthanded batters until the 6th batter he'd face in Votto, but Stubbs hits it over the RFs head for a double to make it interesting with Gomes and Rolen having a chance to tie it up, and Gomes does on the first pitch! Now the Reds have them where they want with it tied and the best of their bullpen available.

Ringleman should have stuck with Clippard at least until a runner reached!

Cordero trying to blow it when he walks the lead-off hitter which is just the same, with a 2 run lead, as a home run!

Cordero gets a gift strike three call for the first out. Then gives up a hit to put the tying run on first.
