Was playing a summer league basketball game tonight that my old high school runs. There was about 2 minutes left and we were ahead by 1 (cant remember exact score). The high school's head coach was also one of the referees in the game.
So the other team gets a rebound and the head coach calls a wuss touch foul on one of my teammates, which ends up making him foul out. The player complains and the head coach gives him a T(which was deserved IMO). Then the kid turns around and walks away and says "I'm going home." So the head coach gives him another T. Then one of my teammates(who also happens to be an assistant coach) was just talking to the head coach saying it is not right and all of that stuff. I didnt think he was complaining, just talking to the ref like I thought you were aloud to do. So the head coach double Ts the assistant coach and kicks him out of the game. After the opposing team shoots about 8 foul shots, (which doesnt seem right to me, could be wrong though), we play and then head coach calls ANOTHER pussy touch foul on one of my players.Also note that he called the foul on a player who was guarding HIS son. So my teammate gets mad, and head coach gives him a T. Then he says if anyone says anything else, the game is over. I guess the player who he T'ed said something, I didnt hear him though, and the game was ended.

So I was just pissed and left and when I got home I heard that after I left head coach was still running mouth to assistant coach about "you shouldnt be talking to refs like that infront of players..blah blah blah"..Even though I know for a fact the head coach was running his mouth during the game he played in. Apparently the argument escalated and there was about to be a fight until the coaches son stepped in and broke it up.

I mean damn talk about ruining something good. There are current players from the school, alumni, players and alumni from other schools participating. I thought it was busch league how the head coach handled the whole thing and it really has changed my opinion of him as a person. There were players talking about not going back, and im thinking about it myself. LOL sorry for the book.

Not that I play ball anymore, but this is why I hated playing after high school. People take it way to serious and it always ends bad.

Should have just told him he was fucking high. That's what I told an umpire this past baseball season.

Its summer league... I would have earned that Technical foul after things went nuts.

You've never played in the Columbus Rec Leagues then, because the most used word is the F Bomb.

I had a ref threaten to fight me while walking to my car in the parking about a month ago, and have since considered calling it quits.

I was more talking about my baseball experiences, but wow thats kind of insane... hostile rec league basketball environment anyone?
