VZW needs to get rid of their mandatory $10 data plans for their "multimedia" devices. At least give people the option of turning the data off.

This is in no way good for the consumers. Sure people may not use a lot of data right now. But the fact is that manufacturers (at the request of the carriers) are producing more and more smart phones geared to using more and more data. The phones are so data centric, and the carriers are planning on making access to data even easier with WiMax and LTE. This is the first step in a slippery slope of carriers putting the screws to their customers.

Cool. I used 229MB in May, so I'm not worried about going back to the unlimited.

Bought my phone Oct. 25th:

sent - 657 mb
received - 6.2 gb

Just got wifi 2 months ago, so it could be incredibly higher.

Whoops, now that I think about it, I was in basic training for 4 months, so it could have been WAY higher!!!!

Should have never jailbroken my iphone, before I jailbroke it I was around 190MB a month, since jailbreaking i've been up to about 350mb, it sucks that Wifi kills the battery.

Man, I feel like I've been slacking since I've only used 2.1GB since I got the phone 2 years ago.

Oh well, I'm gonna switch to the $15 plan on June 7th.

Wifi doesn't kill your battery as fast as 3G or Edge does.

Oh and it you don't like you jailbroken phone, just restore it back.

Right now I'm at 574MB upload and 3.9GB download. That's a year for me. I've never reset. I think it's because I'm on Wifi at home and work.

Wifi does kill your battery pretty good, not as much as 3g but more than edge. Plus having it turned on with 3g kills it very fast and I wouldn't have just one of them turned on.

For now...it doesn't mean anything for you.

It may lead to Verizon restructuring their plans, though...and capping the data usage on your Blackberry.

That's only if VZW decides to follow suit though. So as of right now, this has absolutely zero bearing on you.

It has zero bearing on 95% of us, seeing as 95% of us don't use 2Mb in a month. And it also means nothing for current AT&T customers. We are grandfathered in on the unlimited data for $30. Unless we decide to downgrade to the $25 plan or the $15 plan.
