Gotta get game #1 out of their minds and get to playing good ball again. They've bounced back most of the time this year.....can they continue or is St Louis jumpstarted?

Cueto has been a beats......but the Cards will work him and not swing at many of his out pitches.....I'll be surprised if he's as efficient as he has been.

I'll predict 6 inn 101 pitches 4 runs

Votto is back in the lineup tonight.

Cabrera
Philips
Votto
Rolen
Bruce
Gomes
Stubbs
Hernandez

looks like a W, especially against PJ Walters (I hope) First time seeing a pitcher is tough, but his stuff isn't dominating.

Mike Lincoln and Carlos Fisher are gone! (yay!!!!)

Well actually, Mike Lincoln was placed on the DL with a "strained side muscle". If by "strained" you mean "terrible" and by "side muscle" you mean "throwing arm" then, yes, I suppose he is injured.

Carlos Fisher was optioned to Louisville.

Enerio Del Rosario was recalled from Louisville, as was Logan Ondrusek. Del Rosario would normally have to have waited 10 days after being optioned to come back up, but was eligible to come back early because of the "injury" to Lincoln.

Welcome back Joey!

Great news. Good call earlier this morning/last night. You said the reporter said Dusty and Walt were meeting to discuss something and it might be the bullpen. Ondrusek looked good for the most part when he first time he came up, I predict he'll be much better this time around. Del Rosario has some moving stuff, but he never seemed to have a clean inning (albeit he pitched a limited sample size)

But I am happy with the lineup, it's good to see the regulars going tonight.

3 run jimmy jack by Rolen in the first.
Great start, give Cueto some cushion. Needs to keep pitch count down.

Go Reds!

I swear to God this team......its like they play eenie meenie minie moe before the game to decide who is gonna be the RBI king that day. One day its Gomes, another day its Rolen, or Votto, or Bruce, or Nix, or Stubbs, or Phillips! Seriously.....this is just a good team.

Hopefully Cueto can relax a bit since he's starting with a 3-run cushion.

Great throw from Gomes to get Lopez at home.

Wow....

BTW the ball is REALLY carrying tonight. That looked just like a long fly out off the bat.

Not looking good! Last night it took the Cardinals until the 4th to erase a first inning crooked number lead. Tonight, it only took until the bottomn of the 1st to overcome a bigger lead, and that in spike of a great defensive play to throw out the first runner coming to the plate for the 2nd out. Tonight, just like in last nights lead losing inning, all runs scored after two were out.

Most likely we are screwed. 5 guys get hits out of 7 batters.

Cueto needs to settle down and possibly adjust to the weather, it seems it is both hot and humid, and the ball is definitely carrying, so he's gotta keep the ball down and try to get guys to hit the ball on the ground.

Great presence in CF by Stubbs, after running down that Lopez drive to LCF for the 3rd out, to roll with the body blow to the wall to protect himself. Freel would have been on the DL if he caught a ball in that position going that fast toward the wall.

Haha I thought about Freel during that too. He would have never realized he could approach the play on an angle, he would have ran straight at that wall and ran headfirst into it.

Ball is DEFINITELY carrying. DON'T GIVE PUJOLS OR HOLLIDAY ANYTHING TO HIT JOHNNY!

I wanna see Gomes hit one to the moon.
