It's not like dumbphones, for sure. And not quite as good as the IPhone (but I doubt IPhone batteries are great). Most can easily get a day out of their battery if they don't leave the screen on all the time.
The advantage of rooting is the processor can be underclocked which gives huge battery savings - I can get 15 hours with my display always on (and very minimal other use) the min. brightness. I bet underclocking improves battery life by 25-40%. There is also an extended battery out now that has about 70% more capacity, but it's bulkier and doesn't sit flush with the rest of the body.

I have thought about rooting it, but I figure I am more likely to brick my phone..lol.

I stopped in to ask when the tower would be activated(there is actually 3 towers that need activated in the area), they couldn't even verify if it was their tower. They said that if it was theirs...it would be activated by October. Honestly, I think they have a bunch of blithering idiots working in that store....
Verizon is shit. They have been screwin my mom over for the past few months. She had Alltel for years so obviously switched over when they merged. She got a brand new phone in February and the battery barely holds a charge and dies within hours if it's not on a charger constantly. She went to the verizon store and the person there told her it was her fault and probably her usage. She wasn't very happy with that answer, went back and the manager said the same damn thing. Now I know better, I've worked with cell phones way too much. Told her to call customer retentions. They actually wouldn't do shit for her either. She finally got someone to help her out and they sent her a new battery. But guess what, it was the wrong battery for the phone they no longer have. So after bitchin more they finally decided to send her a new phone w/ all accessories. She can't wait to get rid of Verizon and I don't blame her. That's piss poor customer service.

Rooted my evo as soon as the instructions were posted....
Those scared of root should try the partial root "unrevoked", just install the file and your done... It doesn't let you do everything but you can under/over clock your phone....

I can't vouch for the newer phones, but the original Droid is almost impossible to actually brick. Rooting is quite easy.

imex what is a good app to sync music to your evo, something like what Itunes does or at least a file transfer system like that.
Also have you installed angry birds?

Some people use double twist, I believe there's an app.
I downloaded angry birds for my evo but it takes multiple starts to get it working. It's a beta and hopefully it's updated soon to fix these problems.

Yeah, I have tried to load Angry Birds about 10 times...it has only worked once. It was pretty cool when it did work.imex99;472993 wrote:Some people use double twist, I believe there's an app.
