Last year my pool turned green after about a month and a half of having it up and this year I would like to keep it clear. The question I have for anyone who can answer is what causes the green? Not enough chemicals? People dragging grass in?

Thanks for any help.

It's Algae. Just get some Algae guard and dump in it whenever you do your shock. What size is the pool?

Gotta get Algaecide to keep algae away. Keep an eye on the pH too and don't let it get out of whack.

I HIGHLY recommend this! Works WONDERS! I always had trouble with keeping my chemicals balanced...I heard about this...tried it for the first time last summer. I had to do NOTHING all summer but shock, chlorine, and vacuum. Kept my water crystal clear. Definitely worth the price. 2 cubes will last you all summer. Just put them in a pair of pantyhose or something and drop in your skimmer basket.

Yeah, I figured it was algae. I was just hoping to get a grip on what really causes it so I could try and avoid it this year. The pool is just an inflatable. 13x36 I believe.

I'll give that a 2/10, but only because you knew how to post the picture.

Keep your chemicals balanced and clean your pool out, and you won't have any algae problems. The only chemicals I use are shock, chlorine, algae guard (7 bucks for a gallon jug at walmart), and that cube, then sweep the pool out every other day or so. I have no issues at all.

Couldn't take anymore of the inflatable pool. Went out and bought a 15 x 42 above ground.

What kind of filter did you buy? Sand, Earth, or Cartridge?

What does it mean when your water is white? It looks like it's full of the pop Squirt or 50/50.
