Lots to talk about, outside the game tonight.
--Arthur Rhodes pitched in his 800th game last night (surprise surprise, 0 runs).
--Alex Wimmers, former OSU and Moeller star, has been linked to the Reds with their 12th pick by a few people...baseball america has the reds taking a shortstop with the 12th pick.
--The Reds, despite having the 2nd most wins in baseball, have no player in the top 5 of NL all-star voting. Retarded. Joey Votto isnt even in the top 5...Pujols, Howard, Fielder, Loney, and Berkman are the top 5.
Whoever said yesterday that Stubbs would get the day off for Heisey..good call.

Former first round pick Neil Walker was called up by the Buccos after they placed Steve Pearce on the DL.
Walker is in the lineup batting second and playing 3B.

Hopefully, Neil has more success in the bigs than he did last September in his first stint. Reaching the Mendoza Line will accomplish that. Sucks that Pierce went on the DL. For the first time in his career, he was looking like he might potentially have a big league future, which is sad because he was the organization's minor league player of the year, what? Three years ago?

Walker's development has been slow and actually just last season he was beginning to be written off so it's nice that he has some positive momentum going. I believe .325 at Indy with 6 HRs, 17 doubles and 10 stolen bases.

Walker has had a good year in the minors so far, hitting close to .330 I thought.

The Reds are terrible at campaigning their players for the All Star Game. IMO there should be "Vote Votto" posted ALL OVER the ballpark and reds.com. But there isn't.

Very true Mooney...Hell I didn't even know voting was going on right now, and I visit reds.com and reds blogs every day.
What kills me is Arthur Rhodes...how is he not in the top 5 for relief pitchers?

lol......... because my job is so boring I vote for him everyday but the all-star game is just a joke. I don't sit there and vote for all the reds because I obviously don't think they should all make it. I guess this just proves how much of a popularity contest this thing really is.
