Dude could absolutely do the damn thing, that's for sure. It's always incredibly depressing to see great icons of rock music die each year, and have them replaced by...who? Joe Jonas? Justin Beiber? Please. Guys like Dio ate pussies like that for breakfast on their way to making AWESOME MUSIC. RIP Dio, one of the true greats, and an A+ class act.

you must be a nickleback listenerreclegend22 wrote: Always sad to see a person die, especially a person who obviously impacted so many lives. That's evident from the reaction here alone. Howbeit, I heard of the man for the first time about a minute ago.

wonder how long it'll take the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame to recognize him as a solo artist, or to recognize his version of Rainbow, which sold a ton of records

^^^ Love that song. You would never think a violin in a metal song would sound good... He made it sound great. RIP Dio.

Hate Nickleback. See other thread. In terms of rock, I'm more into bands like The Verve, Radiohead, Coldplay, Oasis, Snow Patrol, Red House Painters and others such as Third Eye Blind, The Fray and Keane.
Hate old rock. But, that's based on my tastes, not off an indictment of anyone else's.
I do like Metallica, however, as well as some Guns-N-Roses. They had some classic hits.

In parts of Italy, making the hand gesture and pointing it at someone is giving them the evil eye. To make the gesture and hold the fingers up (as we know it) is deflecting or warding off the evil eye.Tigerfan00 wrote: I remember when he was talking about throwing up the horns in an interview one time and he said his grandma did that to him when he was little.
So, short story even shorter, it has nothing to do with demon horns.

Yeah my mother has the horns on a chain she used to wear around her neck. It is supposed to ward off misfortune (italian superstition).
I may see if she still has it and rock it, lol. Fucking Metal!!!!

yesterday was sort of an ode to him on VH1 Classic, the few episodes of That Metal Show that he appeared on, and a lot of the video blocks featured Dio and Heaven and Hell and Black Sabbath videos on to honor him. Pretty good viewing.
