.....so prevelant on these forums? I'm no prude, and I can understand the occasional four-letter word used for emphasis and to make a point, but some of this language is just over the top.

Is it really necessary?

Look its a part of life. They are just words. Some people just do it because they can, some people talk like that on an everyday basis. I do it, probably too much without even thinking about it. Doesn't bother me at all, unless of course in thread titles due to being on this site too much at work. :)

The only way you can measure a person is by the things they say/"communicate" and by the things they do.

Is it necessary? Nope, not at all.

Unfortunately it would be a pain in the ass to moderate effectively and I am not really a fan of censorship so I don't want to go and add every single swear word to the swear filter.

In the future I am thinking of adding an option that will allow people to choose to filter words individually. As of right now the only option is board wide so if I turn it on it is in effect for everyone. I like for people to have options. Unfortunately this will all be custom development so it will take me a while to put in place. I am hoping to have something ready to go for high school football season. I will also be switching to new forum software before then as well.

Is rape a bad word. word no.... action is

Ohhh, some people don't like you to talk like that. Ohh, some people like to shut you up for saying those things.
You know that. Lots of people. Lots of groups in this country want to tell you how to talk.
Tell you what you can't talk about. Well, sometimes they'll say, well you can talk about something but you can't joke about it.
Say you can't joke about something because it's not funny. Comedians run into that shit all the time.
Like rape. They'll say, "you can't joke about rape. Rape's not funny."
I say, "fuck you, I think it's hilarious. How do you like that?"
I can prove to you that rape is funny. Picture Porky Pig raping Elmer Fudd.
See, hey why do you think they call him "Porky," eh? I know what you're going to say.
"Elmer was asking for it. Elmer was coming on to Porky.
Porky couldn't help himself, he got a hard- on, he got horney, he lost control, he went out of his mind."
A lot of men talk like that. A lot of men think that way. They think it's the woman's fault.
They like to blame the rape on the woman. Say, "she had it coming, she was wearing a short skirt."
These guys think women ought to go to prison for being cock teasers. Don't seem fair to me.
Don't seem right, but you can joke about it. I believe you can joke about anything.
It all depends on how you construct the joke. What the exaggeration is. What the exaggeration is.
Because every joke needs one exaggeration. Every joke needs one thing to be way out of proportion.
Give you an example. Did you ever see a news story like this in the paper?
Every now and then you run into a story, says, "some guy broke into a house, stole a lot of things, and while he was in there, he raped an 81 year old woman."
And I'm thinking to myself, "WHY??? What the fuck kind of a social life does this guy have?"
I want to say, "why did you do that?" "Well she was coming on to me. We were dancing and I got horney.
Hey, she was asking for it, she had on a tight bathrobe." I'll say, "Jesus Christ, be a little fucking selective next time will you?"

Now, speaking of rape, do you know what I wonder? I wonder is there more rape at the equator or the north pole.
These are the kind of things I think about when I'm sitting home alone and the power goes out.
I wonder is there more rape at the equator or the north pole. I mean per capita, I know the populations are different.
Most people think it's the equator, I think it's the north pole.
People think it's the equator because it's hot down there, they don't wear a lot of clothing, guys can see women's tits, they get horney and there's a lot of fucking going on.
That's exactly why there's less rape at the equator. Because there's a lot of fucking going on.
You can tell there's a lot of fucking at the equator, take a look at the population figures.
Billions of people live near the equator. How many Eskimos do we have?
Thirty? Thirty five? No one's getting laid at the north pole, it's too fucking cold.
Guys say to their wives, "hey tonight honey, huh, tonight, huh?"
"Are you crazy? The wind chill factor is three hundred below."
These guys are deprived. Their horney. Their pent up. Every now and then...p-pmm...they bust out, they got to rape somebody.

Now, the biggest problem an Eskimo rapist has, trying to get wet leather leggings off a woman who is kicking.
Did you ever try to get leather pants off of someone who doesn't want to take them off?
You would lose your hard-on in the process.
Up at the north pole you dick would shrivel up like a stack of dimes.
That's another thing I wonder.
I wonder, does a rapist have a hard-on when he leaves the house in the morning,
or does he develop it during the day while he's walking around looking for somebody.
These are the kind of thoughts that kept me out of the really good schools.

Sorry folks, but this post is a perfect example of why this site will never be what the Huddle was. Too many people who just go out of their way to post crap like this. I'm 42 years old....my 13 year old son was basically free to roam the Huddle as he pleased, though he was really only interested in the sports threads......there's no way in the world he's getting on this site, mainly because of stupidity like this.

I agree with you except that my guess is that most people swear a lot more or at least a lot more freely on here than they do in everyday speech. My philosophy is that if you wouldn't say it in front of your grandma or if you wouldn't want your 12 year old kid saying it in public, then you shouldn't be saying it either.

I agree with the original poster that using it occasionally for emphasis or to make a point is fine, but using it for no reason when a less-offensive word would have made the point just as effectively isn't necessary.

I pretty much talk how I type.

if I'm at work or something, I class up my language a bit. But for the most part I talk this way.

I got 10 bucks that says your kid has not only heard that before, but said it himself. Ever hear teenage boys talk when they think you aren't around? They are worse than truck drivers.

FYI it was a former JJ mod who posted that. we're just breaking balls.

if you want your son to read JJ that's fine. just remember NCF goes out of his way to come over here and post "crap like this" all the time. He's practically a god over there.

and if we wanted to be the JJ, we would have started charging everyone money a long time ago. Quit comparing us to JJ, there are a million forums on the internet and they aren't all trying to be like each other.

lol, cause your son doesnt hear or USE those words himself. If he doesnt, than you have sheltered him beyond belief. Otherwise start worrying about sex and not language in that kids life.

Either way, the Punk MotherFuckers was a clear joke at what Peake called everyone on this board awhile ago. It was classic.

FWIW, and that isnt much, I dont even notice when I swear anymore. I probably do it way to much, but its just the way I talk and the way people talk in general that I hang out with.

Why does this topic come up every month? If you want to see ~~~~ instead of the word fuck pay the $12 and be happy. As far as a 13 Year old being on this site for high school sports threads, bad idea. He will see something posted about his team or one of his friends and it will start a shit storm. I contend no current high school athlete should be on any of these types of forums. They are better orr not knowing what some passed off fans have to say about their performance. Let them focus on playing the games and not getting sucked into the bullshit drama that can occur by reading some of the stuff posted here or on other similar sites.

The way we did it: ask for extra tutoring and then put our dicks on the table and wait for a response.

I use it. I use it in my day-to-day conversations, unless it's when I'm dealing with a client for work or in front of my children. Why? I don't know, just comes out.

As far as doing it on this thread, when someone obviously is genuinely offended by it...that's not really necessary, even if you are being funny. And the poorly drawn smiley guy pointing up is hilarious. :D
