I swear when it is needed, but online, ANYTHING can always come back at you. The way I see it... if I wouldn't put it on my own personal website, I'm not going to put it here. I swear in every day life, but I don't leave a paper trail :) Instead, I do the following:

Fu*k
A$$
Bit*h
Cu*t
M*tt H*ll

This site offers nothing but cursing, boob threads and most of all......a place for teachers and students to hook up.

I have a simple philosophy. Being on this site is recreation. Talking to or hanging out with friends also is recreation. When I talk to/hang out with friends, I don't worry about my language and neither do they. Therefore, the same rings true when I'm here.

I'll never forget that day when I was first introduced to the fuck word. Some vandal had spray-painted it on the sliding borad at my elementary school. I was in 3rd or 4th grade and I've never been the same since.

Fuck yeah, man.

I remember 1st grade music class. A kid ditched in line and another kid said, "Hey, you can't ditch." I turned and said, "He's not a bit*h. You're a bit*h!"

I heard him wrong.

Is it really necessary?
Is it necessary? Nope, not at all.

Unfortunately it would be a pain in the ass to moderate effectively and I am not really a fan of censorship so I don't want to go and add every single swear word to the swear filter.

In the future I am thinking of adding an option that will allow people to choose to filter words individually. As of right now the only option is board wide so if I turn it on it is in effect for everyone. I like for people to have options. Unfortunately this will all be custom development so it will take me a while to put in place. I am hoping to have something ready to go for high school football season. I will also be switching to new forum software before then as well.

I love options - my wife has three holes and two hands.

Those are my only "options"... (sigh)

Sorry folks, but this post is a perfect example of why this site will never be what the Huddle was. Too many people who just go out of their way to post crap like this. I'm 42 years old....my 13 year old son was basically free to roam the Huddle as he pleased, though he was really only interested in the sports threads......there's no way in the world he's getting on this site, mainly because of stupidity like this.
You typed words, but all I read was you whining.

Quit being such a baby. You don't have to encourage your son reading or saying those words but making them such a taboo is what makes kids want to use them.

If there was any doubt before this thread, it has now been eliminated.

The internet is serious business.

lol, in 3 years your son is going to be drinking, smoking weed and having sex. Trust me, seeing some foul language is the least of your worries (especially since I'm sure he uses those words too).

Why are you letting your 13-year old roam around the internet, and like others said, we don't need a 13-year old on this site, there's already morons like NCF on here.

I agree with you except that my guess is that most people swear a lot more or at least a lot more freely on here than they do in everyday speech. My philosophy is that if you wouldn't say it in front of your grandma or if you wouldn't want your 12 year old kid saying it in public, then you shouldn't be saying it either.

I agree with the original poster that using it occasionally for emphasis or to make a point is fine, but using it for no reason when a less-offensive word would have made the point just as effectively isn't necessary.
