Argentina will score on them a few times, and Messi will get his. Mexico doesnt have enough defensive minded midfielders. Their only chance would be to put Marquez in the holding mid slot and play 4 more defenders behind him. But I dont see that even slowing down Argentina. They look fantastic so far, and Messi in particular has looked great despite not scoring.

Think Mexico will give them all they can handle. You haven't seen the best of Mexico yet and they are thru anyways. Messi is just nasty he gonna get his.
Can you remember the name of the Mexican keeper from a few years back? Shorter guy always wearing bright colors, took some pk's every now and then?

Now with the group stage ending we can check to see who's doing well on the Ohio Chatter ESPN thingy.

France decided to class it up a little more at the end (because at this point, why not?), Raymond Domenech did not want any part of a handshake from the RSA coach.

Apparently his justification was something along the lines of claiming the RSA coach made negative comments last year when France qualified on the handball goal, but who knows.
Good riddance to France.

I still like Fabiano personally.

As for the golden boot thoughts. I think we have mentioned the top 3 choices:
Fabiano
Higuain
Villa
and honestly, I dont think you can rule out Messi. I know he has zero goals, but he could EASILY get 2 versus Mexico and we all know how he scores in waves. If Argentina make the finals (4 more games) he could end up with 6 goals. Unlikely, but depending on the odds, could be worth a flier. Personally though I still like Villa.

I'll be in an office, but I was for the Slovenia game, too, and my co-worker and I had the games up on ESPN3 watching very quietly...USA scores their first goal and you heard our boss from his office "HELL YEAH!! COME ON!!" I didn't even know he liked/watched soccer haha so today there will be no sneaking, business is off for 2 hours.

They shouldn't have disallowed that goal. That was bullshit. At the very least it should have been a PK to begin with.

We're gonna "lose" one way or another if we don't fucking put the ball in the net.

Cause Gooch sucks and cant cover, recover, or really do anything useful except clear crosses that find his head. I would however liked to see Bocanegra move to the center (he did) and have Spector play the outside instead of Bornstein.

Gooch is slow as balls, and hasn't really played well at all this World Cup. He was awful in the Slovenia game.
Would rather see Spector than Bornstein, though.

Germany/Ghana here we go. Go Germany! Don't want to face them on Saturday so we need a German win.
