Oh I have virtually NO HOPES for anyone up top with Jozy. But I KNOW Ching gives me nothing and isnt the lest bit athletically. Johnson shows flashes and then disappears once the opponent is worth a damn. Buddle as you said COULD be a spark. I wouldnt really be upset with either as both are athletic with some pace. Ching has neither.gorocks99 wrote:The thing about Buddle is, he's a total unknown factor. His last int'l experience was what, 2003? Maybe he was a late bloomer and will provide something we haven't seen, but we don't know yet. I hope so.Laley23 wrote: Id like to see Buddle get the nod at the second forward spot. USA just cant put Dempsey or Donovan up top because they become essentially worthless to the team then. They are taken out of their games. Donovan is at his best running at people just behind the forwards and Dempsey is at his best as a winger who gets the ball in space and can run, create, cross, etc.

Brian Ching has something on Bob Bradley though. That must be it.

England seems a little banged up. I wouldn't put it past the U.S to upset them.Sage wrote: btw were totally dumping england

If the US can draw England I'll be happy, if they win I will be ECSTATIC! I have a lot of friends in London and surrounding areas.....I will be able to talk soooooo much trash.

I just hope we only lose by 1...but Im a little pessamistic with US Soccer. I want our GD to be unaffected by the game, lol.
If we tie Ill be so hammered Ill have to watch the game on replay to believe it.
If we win, Ill get so smashed I will be drunk till our second group play match!

Yeah, with the game on a Saturday, if we win, I'll be drinking myself into a different dimension in celebration.

I can't believe Ching made this team. Dude is the worst player I have ever seen I'd rather have Davies hurt with the possibility of being ok then him on there. Hopefully someone will step up in practices because Jozy needs someone else up there. And btw, can't freakin wait for the World Cup. I'll be taking some long lunches for the two 10 o clock games.

Four World Cups my man! If you watched them four years ago they were not boring at all and since Lippi has returned to manage them again, they attack more.........he plays two forwards. I don't get it with the Italian hate, it must be their success.Automatik wrote:lol....jealous? Don't kid yourself. You might support Italy because you are Italian, from Stuebenville, blah blah. But you can't deny they their style of play is a snoozer and they are the kings, better yet QUEENS of diving, whining, dirty play, etc. Not to mention their corrupt league. I'm from an Italian background also, hell my middle name is Marcel, you don't see me jumping on their bandwagon. USA! USA!rock_knutne wrote:Keep hoping because the Italians will dominate their group.Automatik wrote: Also, I despise Italy. I don't know how anyone with two balls between their legs can support those whiney, greasy, boring style playing Italians. Heres hopign they don't even make it out of their group!!!
The level of jealousy concernig Italy is laughable! You people should be praising them, after all the Italians have taught the world how to eat, dress and the ways of romance!
I've caught several of their matches during qualifying and struggled to keep my attention....borrrrrring.
You are right about dominated their group though....what a joke of a draw.

Probably their small man, big mouth complex more than the success. Or maybe their greasy, whining, diving ways. (Maybe Sidney Crosby learns his moves from them) I don't think four World Cups has much to do with it, considering most of us probably weren't alive or very, very young for 3 of those Cups.

Has nothing to do with their success. I'd feel the same if they were terrible. I just dislike a lot of their players and their boring, defensive style of play.....Buffon and Rossi are the only ones I actually don't mind. I also like Quagliarella's game. If they are attacking more I either forgot or didn't notice.
The '06 match against the US will forever be burned in my memory. Dirty dirty Italians!

And plenty of people weren't alive for a few of Brazil's WC's. Personally, I don't care what anyone thinks........year in, year out Italy produces some of the best footballers in the world and that's NEVER going to change.

Keep Ching on the bench, he adds nothing to the mix. I like where we stand as far as our group and chances of moving on. This is probably the highest covered World Cup for the US ever and I think it will boost our confidence.

Then Columbus has nothing to worry about..
I'd love nothing more than to see the US win the World Cup, but I'm also a realist. We don't have the guns to pull off that kind of run.
My World Cup interests may be peaking a bit early though if the Cavs take an early exit...
However, this man could lead us to the promised land!!!

I'm very tempted to lay a few bucks down on Spain to win it all. Bookmaker has them as the favorite, but they're still +350 to win the whole thing. They just rolled through qualifying, and have been completely untouchable for 3 years now (outside of the U.S. of course).
The only thing worrying me is that Brazil could fuck up in group play and finish 2nd, which would set up a Spain - Brazil match in the 1st knockout round. That is the one match up I really wouldn't want to see for them.
Decisions, decisions...

Might as well. In the long run, its a good investment based on the lucrative payoff. Could also just put some on Brazil as wellMulva wrote: I'm very tempted to lay a few bucks down on Spain to win it all.
