Exactly. Thank you. I was screaming at them for that, and I was just going to post that. The guy ESPN has commentating it on my phone knew the rule, so that was good, but I was dumbfounded about the idiocy of them.
As a goalkeeper in games that don't mean much, but they still call offsides, I used that rule to my advantage. Very few people know it's the second to last defender, so it's always fun.
