I cannot fucking wait until Friday. I still think South Africa gets a draw against Mexico. I have no idea what to expect from the France - Uruguay match. Those are the two teams I like to come out of the group. France has looked terrible lately, but I'm kind of leaning towards them getting a 1-0 win.

Granted they havent played WC competition, but South Africa is playing really well and has won 12 in a row. I actually wouldnt be surprised at all if they advance out of that group with Mexico, although I hope its France.

USA v England 2:30pm ET ABC correct? That is what all the schedules say but I am watching ESPN News and their commercials are stating 1:30pm ET ABC??? I am guessing they are referring to coverage starting at 1:30 but I hope the game is actually at 2:30 as I am at my office till 2pm!!

You are correct fab...coverage begins at 1:30, and the game will kick off around 2:30.

Although don't put it past the crazy africans to fuck up start times and the kick offs get started a few minutes early or late, either way.

It can start as early as 2:05pm, I only live a mile from my office but when I come in on the weekends its for OT and I am covering phones so I am strapped till 2pm and since I committed I can't cancel now.

My thoughts exactly. I am not even 100% they deserve to be in this WC. I actually believe South Africa will come out of this group. They did not play badly vs top competition at the confederations cup, and they will have a tremendous boost being the host nation. The last time the French had an African team in their group (Senegal 2002), they went 0-3, and Senegal went on to the quarterfinals. That was a wacky tournament, and i expect this tournament to be somewhat similar since it is outside of Europe and South America.

Friday morning we are getting up and heading to an Irish Pub for breakfast and South Africa/Mexico, I will be rooting hard for South Africa in that game!! I also will be rooting against the French, they got a gift to be in the world cup!

no arguments here...hate France...but, like it or not, they will get out of group.

I only wish that Ivory Coast wouldn't have been given such a tough draw...
in almost any other group, they come out and knock off some Europosers.

probably not against Portugal and Brazil, however.

BTW, looks like Maradona is wising up and sticking Messi out wide to the right.

However, he is sticking Tevez and Higuain up top as well. Id take out Tevez and put in Milito...but he is fielding a better line-up than I would have guessed.

this Argentine team coached by Maradona is an absolute wild card...and perhaps the hugest unknown in the whole tourney.
