But hey, let's keep ramming through legislation that is anti-business, anti-growth, anti-job-development, and pro-tax-n-spend. pro-government growth.

Helicopter Ben is jealous right now that the Euro is tanking, expect more quantitative easing as the dollar is becoming too strong and it will hurt our economy.

Don't discount the fact that the financial masters could be tanking the market as a way of telling the Senate to back off. Dingy Harry today declared that an amendment to cap bank size and break up the big banks, as well as a vote to audit the corrupt FED, will come up for vote. Both of those would be game over for Wallstreet, and it would not be surprising to see them fighting back.

I know a few Germans who are not happy with their place in the EU and how much they have to pay to support all the slackers.
I know, i wouldn't be happy either, that wasn't the point. Just saying that it isn't necessarily socialism that brought Greece down, as another country with a quasi socialist economic model is currently playing a large role in propping them up.

Sorry, I wasn't disagreeing with you. (I just worded it poorly.) I was just in Germany a few weeks ago and I talked to several people who were pissed off about how low they have set the bar to join the EU. They feel like Germany has to pay for everything and they aren't getting any benefits.

Yep, Germany is doing well, had a pretty darn good year, and they're getting the shaft.

They're stuck supporting the likes of Greece, Spain, and Portugal.

Greece never should have allowed in the EU in the first place, but that is a whole other debate.

And the Greeks are about as unproductive as they come. :D

The whole Greek society is effed.

The place would have failed even with our founding fathers running it because of how worthless the general populace is.

Goldman Sachs shorting Greek bonds didn't exactly help after it helped Greece to mask how large its debt was.

The unholy alliance between big government and big bank in Europe and here will eventually show itself completely.
