That was the funniest thing I have heard in a long time.Ironman92 wrote: Yeah, Carpenter is only good for about 120 pitches......so if it goes 13 innings we can battle him out of the game.

Carpenter now at 28 pitches thru 3 innings.....Harang is throwing very well but has 35 thru 2
It makes a difference folks.....and this is another reason Dusty sucks.
Over and over under Dusty the Reds have refused to make pitchers work....Rolen did but he's still a "young" Red.....he'll catch on.

Harang used 5 pitches and Rolen 6 the first time thru. That leaves only 17 pitches for the other 7 hitters of which 3 struck out!

Harang in the soup now in the 3rd, starting the order for the 2nd time.

2-0 Cards as Carpenter scores via a Ryan Ludwick single.
Adam Harang in some trouble with Pujols up and runners at 1st and 2nd.

Harang makes a great 3- change-up pitch to K Pujols, and Hanigan's throw nails the runner at 3rd to end the inning with an un-pretty, but effective, tag by Rolen.

Reds 2nd time thru is starting better than the first against Carpenter.

Votto needs to be thinking just one run this inning!

Sure looked like strike 1 on Votto, but he got the walk.

Rolen needs to stay away from the DP.

That is exactly how you pitch around a lead-off double, followed by a sac bunt, if you want to take a chance on keeping the opponent from scoring, but more risk a crooked number inning!

Carpenter still under 40 pitches, even with the "pitch around" BB to Votto.

Ump not calling strike 3 on Molina cost Harang 3 more pitches to get thru the 4th with 68, compared to Carpenter's 39, and with a 2 run deficit for the Reds.

Bruce takes first on a PB on his 6th pitch, then Cabrera after using 4 pitches in his first AB for an out, decides he ought to take a shot at the first pitch and makes an easy out.

Come on Massett! You've got to go after Ludwick harder than that with Pujols on deck with two out and two on!

And Massett pays the price, giving up a 3 run double to Pujols!mhs95_06 wrote: Come on Massett! You've got to go after Ludwick harder than that with Pujols on deck with two out and two on!

Like Brantley said, if you are going to use Massett in the 7th, why not start the inning with him with the bases clean!
