History channel is taking a 6 week, 12 episode look at what made this country, taking a new look at how we became a nation, the difficulties that faced us and how we overcame them. It apparently sheds new light into some areas and uses new technologies to vividly show the founding of this nation.

Starts tonight at 9pm.

It looks awesome from the ads I've seen.

I can give or take some History Channel programing, but this one looks epic. On the same level as the WWII in Hi-Def they ran a couple of months ago.

Not only that but I am suffering through watching her do yoga on the living room TV right now. I really need a big screen and nice chair in my man room

update: the yoga program tells her to sit down slowly with control and she just falls over backwards

Yeah, not spoil, but they start in the 1600s and have moved to the start of the Revolution right now.

ok cool. I hate shows that are about the history of something and then don't go in chronological order

Really liked the first two episodes. It is a little broad, but it has to be. They also add in some good interviews and great computer graphics and live action to tell the tale.

I'd give it a pretty good mark. I'm pretty well read on the Founding and would have liked for them to message Revere was just one link in the famous ride. It is thought about 40 riders participated and helped to get the word out to the whole countryside with fresh horses.

I enjoyed it. The only thing I didn't particularly care for was the celebrity commentary, but that's minute.

I thought the first episode was pretty phenominal. I had forgetten some of the details they portrayed last night. I can't wait until the next episodes.

To be honest, I watched it and learned pretty much nothing, it was like high school social studies all over. I like when they do documentaries on specific times, but there's WAY too much info on the history of our nation to fit in the mini-series.
