No more picks unless we trade up, so how would you say we did? Just for comparison, I'm putting the grades Pete Prisco and Jon Dove of CBS gave the Browns in parenthesis.
1. Joe Haden: A (A)
Haden and Berry were the top 2 guys on my wish list coming into the draft. Very happy with this pick.
2. T.J. Ward: C (C)
Ward will be a starting safety if healthy. The only problem is, given his history there is no guarantee that will happen. I also think this was a little bit of a reach.
2. Montario Hardesty: C- (C)
I think we waited 1 spot too late to trade up for a running back. I think Ben Tate will be one of the steals of the draft, and I'm not a big Hardesty fan. Especially considering we gave up 3 picks to go get him.
3. Colt McCoy: A (A)
I give this pick an A because of the value of getting him in round 3. I think he could be a solid QB, but I don't expect him to be an all-pro or anything.
3. Shaun Lauvao: C (B)
Good run blocker and could start right away as guard definitely fills a need, but this was also a reach in my opinion and there was better value available at positions of need.
5. Larry Asante: B- (B+)
I like the value with this pick because he was a beast at Nebraska, but I'm not sure he's ever going to be a real impact player at the pro level due to lack of speed.
6. Carlton Mitchell: B+ (C+)
Definitely a project, but he's big and fast and has a lot of potential. I actually told my roommate I was hoping we would take him with our 5th round pick. I don't see any reason not to take a gamble this late on a guy with his upside.
6. Clifton Geathers: N/A (B)
I really don't know anything about him, other than the fact that he's enormous.
Overall: B
I was very disappointed with the round 2 picks last night, but they started picking it up with the McCoy grab

I give them a B.
I did not care for their first 2nd round pick and not a fan of taking Haden over Thomas.

The McCoy pick made the 2nd rounders good.

Grading the draft from this year already is like saying a team played well because they looked good when they came out on the field. It tales at least 3+ years to fairly grade a draft.

They had many needs going into the draft, and addressed all but the OLB position.
McCoy was a steal in the 3rd.
The defensive backs taken should make this one of the stronger units on the team.
Mitchell could turn out to be a great pick...he has a lot of upside.

Anyone of you Clown fans think Colt McBoy will be an NFL qb is sadly mistaken. There is a reason he fell to the 3rd round. It took a sucker like Holmgren to pick him.

Well at least we won't have to worry about him raping or sexually assaulting anyone.
Though I bet you wouldn't say no to Ben would you.

Haden was a reach, but he should be solid. Ward was a reach, but he should be solid. Hardesty was a reach...he should be solid.
Colt McCoy was a great pick.
All in all, they did a good job, but I guess my expectations were a lot higher and that this was going to be an Earth shattering draft like the Seahawks had.

You have a point as no one drafted in the third round has ever been a player.

Colt McCoy should be just fine as an NFL QB. And bonus, he isn't a rapist.

Damn...when the man comes on a Browns thread to rip on your ass, you KNOW you're getting annoying, Capone.

Your Jets better win it all this season cause when the salary cap comes back next year and they have to pay the piper, half that team will be gone.

They'll be fine. Tannenbaum is the GOAT GM when it comes to salary cap stuff.

Tannenbaum and, as much as it pains me to say this, Newsome may be the best in the business right now.

Yea, he's better than Colbert from Pittsburgh.
BTW how many rings does Tannenbaum have?
