It's no secret that Cleveland is one of the worst cities in the country. The place sucks!!! Noah was just speaking the truth.

I read this page of this thread and don't even know where to start.
1. Cleveland is not a tourist destination. They had a Rock and Roll Hall of Fame concert a year or so ago, and it was held in NYC. To argue that Cleveland is an attractive city is just ludicrous.
2. The joke about Noah's mom was horrible.
3. To say Noah didn't play well last night is just the biggest homer comment I've ever heard. He kept them in the game at points.

Me and a friend was talking about how come when someone's team opponent do well it is always what their team didn't do instead of giving that team or player credit.thedynasty1998 wrote: 3. I have no problem giving credit where it's due. But I'm not giving him a ton from last night. Watch a replay of the game or something, I'm not going to bother arguing with you. I don't even care enough, after Sunday he's going to be irrelevant.

I see where you are coming from. My post wasn't directed at yours, I was saying in general. Noah wasn't the focus point to the Cavs D so I think it was a combination of both his hard work and the Cavs not paying him no attention.SQ_Crazies wrote: I have no problem giving credit where it's due. He definitely worked hard, I don't like the guy but he's a pretty good young player and he's a winner. But he doesn't deserve the credit of saying he "backed up his shit talk" last night. We failed in a big way at shutting him down, our bigs got sucked into Rose's penetration and forgot about him all night long.

That's like saying no one else on the Cavs is worth a crap, and then when Mo Williams goes for 20, me saying, well it doesn't count since the other team was focused on stopping Lebron.
The guy had 25 points and 13 rebounds in a playoff game, I really don't understand how you can discredit that. If Jamison, or Varejao, or Shaq had a game like that, we as Cavs fans would be ecstatic.

Joakim Noah is a very good player, he's better offensively than Anderson Varejao, but he's not quite as good defensively.
I dislike Noah not because of his style of play, I actually appreciate that because I've watched Andy play for years.. But I hate him because of he's an arrogant dumbass. The guy carries himself like a superstar instead of knowing his role on the team and staying out of the limelight.

LOL at the notion that anyone can go for 25 and 13 if "not being paid attention to." I don't give a fuck if you are the focal point of the defense or not, 25 and 13 is 25 and 13.

Every athlete is arrogant to some degree but he goes over the top. Lebron does his dumb ass head nod and lip curl shit, Kobe does his dumb ass teeth thing...but Noah is just stupid.

I completely understand the hatred towards Noah. The guy is a moron and doesn't know when to shut up, but it's the discrediting of his abilities that I don't comprehend.

If you could read and comprehend at the same time, you'd know that I never discredited his abilities.

If that's not discrediting his performance I don't know what is.SQ_Crazies wrote: But if you thought he played a great game tonight you're paying too much attention to the box score. Like I said, I could score too if no one paid any attention to me. The Cavs gave them everything they got because they played like shit for most of the game. The Bulls had 4 TO's and 22 extra possessions, and still lost. Noah roamed free all night, he got those numbers because we let him. Our bigs were too worried about Rose's penetration. Which is why I kind of wish we'd go big and let LeBron cut that off--but clearly it just doesn't really matter.

He's average 8 and 8 for his career, I don't think SQ is off base with his comments about no one paying attention to Noah. Watch the game, most of his posts and rebounds came from no one boxing him out. It was a great performance, but let's not get carried away, it won't be a consistent performance and you can take that to the bank.thedynasty1998 wrote:If that's not discrediting his performance I don't know what is.SQ_Crazies wrote: But if you thought he played a great game tonight you're paying too much attention to the box score. So, didn't read all the posts. But you guys call speaking the truth about Cleveland, the city (which is a suck ass place) as trash talking? Did he say anything about the team...or just mention that Cleveland isn't a really fun place to hang out?

So was I. He didn't "back up his shit talk", that's all I'm saying. All he did is what he's supposed to do--and we let him do it easy. There are handfuls of big men in the NBA that would have put up those numbers last night in the same situation. I'm not discrediting it, it is what it is, the numbers are what they are. Just saying, he got too much credit for backing up his shit talk. He just did his job, nothing special. He just had it farrrr to easy.thedynasty1998 wrote: I'm not talking about his career or consistency, I was speaking solely on last night.
He didn't back it up regardless...this team still lost.

Aaron Brooks on Twitter:
"Wow. Noah is fool. I like the City of Cleveland. It's not modern looking, but the people are great."
Maybe Aaron is just lobbying to play on the Cavs

Noah was 10-18 from the field...5-5 from the line...ripped dowm 13 rebounds of which 7 were offensive. He blocked a shot, had 3 assists and not 1 turnover.SQ_Crazies wrote:So was I. That's the definition of a phenominal game.
Hate all you want...but Noah walked the walk Monday night.

He didn't walk the walk, LMAO...he just did his job. Again, take your dumbass over to your TV and watch a replay of the game...come back and tell me if you feel the same way. You didn't pay attention, you looked at the box score, you've been guilty of this on many occasions. Darnell Jackson could have put those numbers up the way the Cavalier bigs were playing defense for most of the night. When they finally locked it down in the 4th quarter--the only time we played good defense--where was Noah then? He had a few easy put backs because of good positioning, that's it. I'm not discrediting the guy, the numbers are what they are--once again you're misunderstanding what I'm saying because you aren't reading carefully. The numbers say that he did back up his shit talk, which is exactly my point--watch a replay of the game. He didn't. He just did his job. Like you said 7 offensive boards, because no one boxed him out. It's pointless to even argue, watch the tape. He did nothing special, everyone just gave him more credit than he deserved based on the box score. Our defense is what led to the numbers being so high which was a result of Rose FAR more than Noah.
Like I said, pointless to even argue--the evidence is out there. I'm not discrediting him, not saying he didn't play a good game. Just saying he doesn't deserve to hear that he backed up his shit talk based on those numbers alone. A monkey could put those numbers up on defenders who are falling asleep every time down the floor.

Shaq on Noah:
"Anybody can make comments while sitting in a room, but make the comments and walk around the city, tough guy.. "
Also said "I love Cleveland, I love the city of Richfield too.."
