I think it only fair that you have an opportunity to voice what you really think and to whom are to be blame. Blame yourself, Obama, friend, Spread the Wealth, wife/husband, ex-wife/husband or g/b friend, your boss, whoever go at it.

If you have had your pay cut to keep you employed or if you have lost your job and are now unemployed and if you are presently unemployed and can’t find a job ..

Who would you thank for your good fortune of pay cuts and unemployment?

Working about 20hrs a week thanks to the sales rep at the company that way over bid a contract that we used to have. I would like to stay around 30 but thats not going to happen until we get another contract at some point.

Last time i was unemployed, i blamed myself.

Jobs were available, i was interviewing, just wasn't landing them.

But, thankfully, i'm loving the work i'm doing at the moment, and will be starting a new job at the end of June that i'm really excited about.

I would like to thank the government/state or whoever is responsible for cutting thousands of teaching jobs throughout Ohio, makes it real easy to enter a profession going against many teachers with years of experience on me.

To receive money or compensation you have an obligation to create value for someone else. If they don't have a need for your services you are not giving them value. Why is it ever someone else's fault that you can't fit or provide the value they may or may not need?

Get special ed certified. My brother has interviewed for like 10 openings in the past couple weeks, all in central Ohio.

What happened to the "big stacks of CASH MONEY!"?


My company did 2 rounds of layoffs last year and the 2nd round also cost the rest of us 10% of our pay.

The 10% was reinstated in about 1 month when we got really busy again and we've been back to "full pay" since about mid October of last year.[/align]

In times like this people should speak out and voice what on their mind.
Let hear from real world and real Americans who are unemployed.
If Public Servant comes to mind then say it ..if not then place blame where blame should be placed.

I agree with that with one caveat, "To receive money or compensation you have an obligation to create value for someone else and in turn that someone else has the ability to pay you."

That's true whether you're an independent businessperson and you rely on clients/customers to pay your bills, or you work for a larger entity and rely on their ability to make payroll.

Awesome. That is exactly what my brother did. He just finished his masters in special education, and job prospects are looking real good.

He started out as social studies...no chance in hell you're finding one of those in Ohio at the moment.

You can thank the unconstitutional education system for that.

If you don't like it you could always move to another state...

It sure is. The law states that the opportunity for a education is fair and balanced.

Except that the education system is based off of property tax.

That's why Dublin has a bitchin school and rural schools are having cutbacks.

The opportunity is present for all based on the requirements set forth by the Ohio Department of education. Anything provided above that level is determined by the local school boards.

What has been declared unconstitutional by the Ohio Supreme Court is the manner in which public education is funded in the State of Ohio.

The public education system in Ohio isn't unconstitutional. The manner that it is funded is. The reliance on property tax was deemed to be too heavy.

"DeRolph v. State was a landmark case in Ohio constitutional law in which the Ohio Supreme Court ruled that the state's method for funding public education was unconstitutional. ..."
