Not saying that if someone put a Coke and a beer down in front of you that you wouldn't pick the beer--that's fine. But you're a bullshit liar and you're trying to be cool or something if you want to try to tell me that beer is the best tasting drink there is.

You're confusing what I'm saying. It's fine if you pick the beer to drink with dinner. If you'd prefer to drink the beer, that's your preference. But you're lying if you think that beer is the best tasting liquid available to you.

again, you are deciding what someone's personal preference can and can not be. You cannot say with certainty that they are lying. It's just your opinion, that YOUR favorite beverage is not beer

Cool with me SQ. But I don't think of myself as a badass for drinking a certain type of beer. If that was the case I'd be drinking Miller or Bud since I could get any hot woman I wanted...well that's what the commercials tell me. And they have to be the best beers since numbers don't lie.

I never said "you're lying if you think that beer is the best tasting liquid available to you.".. You said that. I don't drink Coke or Pepsi. I prefer the right beer or wine with my dinner. If not beer or wine then it's water for me.

Like I said earlier, I hope everyone keeps drinking that American Lager swill so I can make sure I get the hard to get beers that I like to drink.

I don't care what you prefer. That's fine, I agree that people prefer beer. But even people that would prefer to drink a beer don't think it's the best TASTING liquid they could put down their throats. I love beer. But no one drinks some Dole White Grape Mango juice and says, "beer tastes better than this".

And don't come back and tell me that you actually don't like White Grape Mango juice. You get the point...<insert juice/something else here>...

Mango juice is disgusting. Nobody in the world could say that it's the best tasting liquid they could drink. No one drinks Capri-Sun and says "mango juice tastes better than this".

White Grape Mango juice...never heard of it. Plus I'm not into Mango drinks, so I'd choose beer over it.

Once again 'Personal Preference' and I'd choose the Sierra Nevada 13th Release Harvest Wet Hop Ale, that I'm having right now over a Coke...and have since the wife has Coke in the fridge too.

....and I guess I won't. I'm not trying to sell to anyone the beer I like is the best, only it's the best for me. I'm sure LJ and I prefer different beers as we are into different styles as pointed in a different thread.

All I'm saying is don't give me a Sam's Club Cola or a Big K and tell me it's Coke....Kinda Like Bud is the real Beer.

It completely depends on your reason for drinking a beer. If you are drinking to get drunk, then yes, it doesn't really matter what kind you're drinking. I for one never drink to get drunk. I drink for the flavor and to enhance the flavor of whatever food I am drinking. Since I want my beer to taste good and don't care about getting a buzz, I want something with a nice flavor and something that I can work on for a while, not chug. It's not about being a beer snob, it's about finding something you like and drinking to enjoy the time and effort it took the brew master to craft it.
