I think McCoy could be ok in the league if put in the right situation, which is sitting for a year behind a decent QB who could show him the ropes. Same thing could be said for Quinn. Hell, I knew he was doomed from the start.

Not being biased...of the QB's in the draftwe have a shot at..this is the order I would want them:

1.Tim Tebow
2.Dan Lefevour
3.Colt McCoy
4.Tony Pike
5.Jarret Brown

Neither do I, but what good is drafting Tim Tebow gonna do for the Browns? I do like Dan Lefevour though if we dont go QB early on.

Jarrett Brown 5th?? I know people can have differing opinions, but Jarrett Brown 5th???? What on earth makes anyone think Jarrett Brown is anything but an average at best QB?

I haven't seen any film on the kid from Fordham,so i can't put him on there

But from what I have heard...I would've put him ahead of Pike with would have pushed Brown off the list

On the AM Sportscenter they showed McShay's 562932394920303201th prediction about the draft and he said McCoy would go the Browns in the 2nd round.

Have to agree with those who say it depends on who is on the board.

Not sure I would want Colt McCoy over a Dan LeFevour.

Lefevour has a wet noodle for an arm, and has done little to impress scouts as far as arm strength, particularly throwing the deep ball. The fact he didn't throw at the combine when he was not a top flight QB should tip anyone off that he is trying to down play that as it would have been more glaring then when he was by himself at pro-day.

We should no by now that in Cleveland, given the weather conditions late in the season (and presumably in the playoffs one day god forbid) that any QB of this team has to be able to put some zip on the ball.

I personally dont want him to be on the team, but if they do take him then so be it.

I would rather them go after Pike or Tebow.

Mike & Mike were talking about Tebow and brought up a good analogy. It seems like whenever Tebow is discussed you hear about how he's a "real hard worker" but never really anything about how pundits feel he'll be an elite QB. The "real hard worker" comment sounds similar to the blind date that your friend wants to set you up on that has a "real nice personality." Never a "she's hot", just a "real nice personality."

Another thing with all of this chatter and "love" for McCoy by Holmgren....just watch, McCoy will probably be on the board when we pick and watch them stun most of us and pass on him.

It wouldnt stun me if they passed on him.

Like I said, I wouldnt be horribly upset if they draft him, I just dont think he would be the best fit for this team.

Colt McCoy reminds me of Brady Quinn. Both had very questionable arm strength. However Quinn had an advantage over McCoy because he actually came from a pro offense. How many snaps under center did McCoy take last year? How many QBs from that type of offense have had any kind of success in the NFL?

I actually think Quinn has adequate arm strength but is very inconsistent in terms of accuracy. McCoy's greatest asset might be how accurate he is. I think if he's there in the second round it might be worth pulling the trigger and letting him compete for the job...do I think he is a franchise QB, probably not...but who knows.

And THIS is the difference. I don't think either of these QB's have the best arm strength but Quinn can't hit the broad side of a barn. Had he been accurate, I probably wouldn't have had an issue with moving forward with him. Ahhh, who am I kidding.... Quinn checked down and was the master of the 3 yard dumpoff.

Yeah I was going to say, I never thought he had a good arm while he was at Notre Dame, and his play with the Browns never changed my mind. It was funny, they had 2 different offenses for the QBs. They had the vertical passes with D.A. and then once Quinn came in everything was a short crossing route or a screen. I don't think I can remember him throwing the ball more than 30 yds any more than a few times in his entire Browns career

Actually, from what I've heard, the offense was the same for both. Quinn was just afraid to throw downfield where DA would sling it 30 yards regardless of who was in the area. I don't know WHAT happened to Quinn but it was as if he was gunshy/afraid to make a mistake.

I don't know if people will remember this but as a rookie (2007), in preseason, Quinn was winging it all over the place. There was reason for optimism (maybe it was Chudzinski) with him. He looked like he was going to be a stud. Then he was just afraid to throw it farther than 5 yards.

Personally, I wouldn't touch a QB in this draft. I would wait until next year. But if I had to choose, I'd go with McCoy. I just like how he plays the game and how he wins.
