Yea since everyone in France was watching the OU vs. Georgetown game. Don't be so naive.

You do realize that most European teams only allow 1-2 Americans on each team right? It's not like the pro ball in Europe is just a bunch of Americans playing each other and getting paid. It's hard to get into and to get established. There's not the high level of turnover like you might think.

Don't be so naive to think that european teams weren't watching the tournament. it's more watched then you think, obviously.

It's obviously more watched here than in Europe. Honestly, when I opened this thread, I didn't even know who Bassett played for. I knew the name, but couldn't tell you that he played for OU.

How many people outside of Athens and Indiana know who he is here in the US?

Honest question. I just don't think he's as well known as you are giving him credit for.

I mean how many people in Europe do you think watch high school basketball in America? Because that's where Brandon Jennings was playing before playing over there.

Point is, it doesn't matter how well known you are..if you're good, you'll get a spot (see: my friend from Wooster)

Like he can't get his degree once he does get hurt?
I was thinking more along the lines of what if he never earns enough to pay for college himself. of if he takes his money buys a house, gets hurt. now he has a house but no money. i don't doubt that if he makes it 1 year overseas he's probably on the right path, but if it doesn't work out it's a big risk.

Really? He wouldn't be able to afford the remaining credits at a state university? I think you are stretching here.

That's a really good point! I'm not sure how much Jennings made, but I think iit was pretty good. I guess it might just come down to how good his agent is.

I understand your point about your buddy from Wooster, if you are good enough, you can find a team. My only thing was that your friend wasn't making $100,000 in his first year out of Wooster. We might actually know the same person as I know a couple people from Wooster who played overseas.

Look, you arent giving Armon Bassett enough credit. Im SHOCKED you didnt know who he was/played for.

He was a top 100 recruit in Indiana and choose the Hoosiers. Started games for them as a Freshman and then played PG his SO year with Eric Gordon and was a rock for them. He is very well known by people who should know him (IE scouts in Europe). He was one of the better shooting guards in the Big Ten his SO year shooting over 40% from the 3-pt line. He would have been all Big-Ten by this season had the Hoosiers not had the debacle.

BTW, what is all this retarded degree talk?? Dude has been in college for (4) years already. If he wanted a degree he could have it in a month or need like a class to do so. Fact is he doesnt give a fuck. He basically flunked out of Indiana (only had the bare minimum to continue. I doubt its changed much at OU.

Imagine how good IU could have been if everyone could have kept it together.

Crawford, Bassett, Gordon.....wow.

....what a shame.

Not to mention Devin Ebanks and Kevin Jones. Although, Gordon was a goner, so he isnt part of that group.

I don't think you're understanding my post. (it's probably my fault because i'm not always clear in conveying my thoughts) It doesn't matter anyway because Laley PWNED me with his insight. he doesn't desire a degree, so my point is moot.

Honestly, getting a degree from OU is essentially worthless anyway, so try to make something for yourself when you are in the spotlight.

I go to OU and honestly had never even heard the name Bassett until the Georgetown game. Typing this right now I already forgot his first name.
