I don't have a clue what the NFL will do, but I'd bet it's likely his felony charges get reduced, unless there is some weird circumstance that we know nothing about.

In any case, he's a jackass for apparently not keeping close enough track of his firearms to the point that one got on a bag headed to the airport.

Do I believe he is truly that dumb? Oh yeah. Lots of people are. Factor in the arrogance of believing you're better than most people because you're an NFL player...and the dumb factor goes up by 1,000.

Why would you have a gun unloaded? Then all you have is a $400 paper weight. And on the subject, Shaun Rogers is a jackass and I wish we would have traded him by now. That said, I'm not really sure he should go to jail just for having a gun, if he was legally allowed to own a gun in the first place. It isn't like he threatened someone, pulled it out and waved it around, or whatever. Stupid yes, suspension worthy maybe, but I don't think he should get jail time.

Firearms are banned in airport terminals by the feds, whether or not you agree with the law, it's a pretty damn big deal. If you know anything about me, you know I am probably the biggest gun rights advocate on this website. He;s going to go to jail.

As was mentioned before, this wasn't like the Plaxico incident in NYC. This is getting into homeland security and they take that shit seriously. I'd be stunned if he doesn't do SOME jail time. He should be put in there for his arrogance and stupidity alone to teach him a lesson.

The thing about this is that I'm not really that upset. I'm pissed that he's an idiot but not concerned that we'll lose him as a player. Dude had his own agenda and didn't play the nose tackle with the right technique. The run defense was much better with Ahtyba Rubin at nose because Rubin stayed "home" and kept gap integrity. Rogers was best suited to play defensive end anyhow.

ESPN is reporting he could get anywhere from probation to 5 yrs in prison. Imagine the prison trying to feed this guy for 5 yrs.

When you put it that way, as a person who pays taxes, I hope he gets probation.

Give him probation but dude should be kicked out of the NFL just for being so stupid. Does the NFL not have classes for rookies about this crap, or are these people suffering from too many blows to the head and it's just not sinking in?

Especially with his income taxes then taken out of the equation!

Sucks for him, but I agree, you don't just forget. If you do, you're a jackass. Not like it matters, the Browns are going to suck for at least this next year anyways.

And yes...I'm joking.

I won't be surprised if he gets some jail time. As was said earlier...this isn't something they take lightly. Looks like we probably won't have to worry about him being in a Brown's uniform after all.

IMO he probably did forget it was there, as hard as that as is to believe. I mean, what other explanation is there? Unless he has ties to Al-Qaeda, I can't see him being stupid enough to try to sneak a weapon on the plane with security the way it is.

He's still a dumbass, because he pleased not guilty... apparently he thinks if you show remorse it makes it like it never happened.

The case is pretty open and shut, I don't even see him being able to get it reduced.

Won't change anything. Most likely it shows that he knew it was in there, but 1911's are always carried "cocked and locked"

Drennan just UNLOADED about this, called Rodgers an idiot.

He can't comprehend how somewhere along the line, in this day and age, that one completely forgets they're carrying a gun through a security checkpoint.
