Here’s the deal… QO and Gut like to believe Democrats are just liberals in California and NYC. If that were the case, Hillary Clinton would have won easily over Trump. But they’re not. The dems depend on midwestern/union democrats to win elections. Who are very much not liberal. And didn’t and never would vote for Hillary who the dems believes would vote her because she’s the first woman!  As we saw… it didn’t happen.

But you think the right would have success with it? I can’t see it. And i don’t think they see it either.

Like it or not… Policy doesn’t matter. Being “presidential” doesn’t matter. Even being a good candidate doesn’t matter.  Bc majority of the US dgaf. Trump exposed that.  We like to be entertained. We like the zingers! We like someone who’s tuffff! We like charismatic people! You’d have a better chance getting Miss Elizabeth parading around with WWF belt elected than Nikki Haley. And she’s still lose too. The general public… who determines the elections.. not smart people or people who even care lol .. will not vote for them.

Trump officially running again as of yesterday. Surprised I didn’t see anything on this thread for it.

I actually don’t think anyone here really supports him personally anymore. From most everything I’ve seen elsewhere, people seemed to have moved on from him.

I think it was pretty much certain he would run. I hope he fails because he has no chance of winning the general election again.

I really thought he was just milking his base for more money. I didn't think he'd run again.

Hey, I don't want to vote for him either but look at it this way.....was our quality of life (lower gas prices, lower inflation, lower interest rates, booming housing market, etc) better 2 years ago or today? I'll vote for the lesser evil as the current dip shit in office can't count to potato, let alone solve the messes he's created. And if it continues (Dems, or worse, progressive/socialist Dems) to move forward it will continue to get worse.

I'd prefer Desantis be the candidate but after hearing about it more & more, I think he'd lose.

I would still vote for Trump in the general. But what makes you say that about Desantis? I think the middle of the road voters that can’t stand Trump would debate voting for Desantis. All the Trumpy backed candidates in the midterms mainly lost, so I think a lot of people have given up on Trump.

Believe it or not, I believe that Trump relates more to the minority community than Desantis who'd just be looked at as a "conservative white guy." I believe Trump's share of this demographic will grow.

Well, campaign funds can't be used for personal expenses (though MANY politicians manage to pay high consulting fees to completely unqualified friends and family).

But Trump could be facing some legal peril and might be hoping to finally pardon himself!

When have you ever seen someone lose an election, and then continue to hold rallies months/years ahead of the next election cycle?  Trump is addicted to those adoring crowds (and so is Don Jr. and Ivanka - creepy seeing them speak at his nomination).

Again, with a crowded field it's hard to see Trump not winning the nomination.

I don't know.  Seems like Desantis is doing awfully well with minorities in Florida.

I haven't followed Desantis super closely, but a lot of the country thinks he's a MAGA idiot because they only know him through the lens of CNN/NYT.  I think he's going to do very well with moderates once they see him on the campaign trail and in debates.

Will be an interesting couple of years, no doubt about it.

DeSantis will win if he win the primary, imo. But Trump could take that because of so many die-hards and then others split vote. I think Trump would get waxed again, maybe by even more, in 2024.

Speaking of delusion....seems like Pence is planning to run, also.

Will be interesting to see who can raise money with Trump and Desantis, and also assuming Haley and Noem in the field.

Oh, and looks like Pompeo is also going to run.  He might do a bit better than Pence, but unless he's bucking for VP, don't know he thinks he has a chance against Trump and Desantis.

Had a good laugh the other day when someone said "remember when Trump was going to self-finance his entire campaign?"

DeSantis is an absolute slam dunk so of course it's going to be Trump.
