If you actually read the article, it says up top that Phil Jackson has "strong words" then fails to show them, instead giving a quote where Phil says it's weird.

I don't consider weird a strong word.

The title of the article says they criticize the Cav's trade.

Well Doc Rivers jokingly says it's terrible, jokingly because he did the same thing in '05 with Gary Payton. He THEN goes on to say that it really is a problem, for every team, the way the system is. HARDLY a criticism of the Cavs, moreso about the NBA.

But this really irks me because they're trying to stretch every single quote out so much just to get a story it's funny, but at the same time, I go to espn.com to read actual analysis, not this bullshit.

Rant over.

I hate ESPN anymore. It's pretty much a soap opera show. What I find funny out of it is this. They article title says that Jackson and Rivers criticize the Cavs trade. Yet both were involved in something similar just a few years ago.

I read this article to. Seemed like a whole lot of nothing. ESPN is just trying to make the Cavs look worse.

Such scathing remarks. Danny Ferry should file a complaint. It's no wonder I stopped watching ESPN (except for games) years ago.

"I have a problem with that," Rivers said before Thursday's Lakers-Celtics game at Staples Center. "I loved it three years ago when we did it with Gary Payton if you remember, but now I think it sucks. I think it's a terrible deal."

Haha. Go fuck yourself Doc Rivers.

Haha, agreed. The title makes it sound like Jackson and rivers were dropping verbal bombs on the Cavs when Doc's had sarcasm written all over it and Phil said literally nothing aside from the known facts...a trade, pending buyout, and Z return.
Jackson declined to comment on the Jamison trade when he was asked about it at Thursday's shoot-around, quipping, "I don't care about that," and dodged two more questions about it in his pregame media session before not being able to bite his tongue any longer.

"They're going to get Ilgauskas back and it's going to be one of those scenarios that we see in the NBA where you ship a player out, you get another player, then your player retires or they pay him off and then he comes back in 30 days," Jackson said. "I don't know what that does for the league. I think that's kind of a weird situation."
I liked the "couldn't bite his tongue any longer" part. Yea, he totally lashed out there.

Glad I'm not the only one who finds this absolutely absurd.

I would like to see another major sports network. Fox Sports tries, but haven't been very successful. I would like to see Turner Broadcasting create their own seperate sports only channel...

+1.

They tried it with CNN/SI but that didnt last long. I really wish it would have stuck around. Fox should create a Fox Sports News Channel. TMZ has a sports site(or at least category on their site) and I am thinking ESPN wants to start battling them. They try to be the NFL Network2, Golf Channel2, and will soon become Danica Patrick's personal network. They have no shot against Turner/NBA TV in covering basketball, or MLB Network in baseball. ESPNU and live coverage of college sports are the only things bearable on the family of networks anymore.
