Lakers or Cavaliers

With Jamison going to the Cavaliers , it puts them over the top. Their bench is now unreal. The lakers starting 5 can compete with Cavaliers starting 5 but the Lakers bench cannot compete with the Cavaliers bench its not even close anymore.

The Lakers will be the favorite until someone takes it from them.

Besides, the bench disparity come playoff time really isn't as big a deal because teams always shorten up the rotation to like 7-8 guys the deeper you go in the playoffs. You don't see the 9th,10th,11th man out there in the finals.

I just hope both teams get to the finals, as it would be an epic encounter for the league, and probably the highest rates Finals in eons.

I think it's pretty much even up now. I think Amar'e would've put the Cavs over the top. A frontcourt of Shaq, Z, Amar'e, and Andy would've been very difficult for any team to stop.

Watching the Cavs fail to make the finals will be almost as good as watching the Lakers win it.

The Lakers are the favorites until they are beaten. It won't be a cake walk for either team to get to the finals, regardless of what anyone thinks and nothing is set in stone that those two will meet(however if Stern has his way, he will help make it happen).

I don't buy the "favorites until they are beaten" crap. How does that make any sense? It's clear that the Cavs are better this year. They've been playing the best, have the best record, and they beat the Lakers twice. I'm going by this season and this season alone and I'd say the Cavs are the favorites.

I have to agree with the Cavs being the favorite. They've beaten the Lakers twice and have shown to be the best team in the league thus far. But when the playoffs start, the intensity rises. So you never know and nothing is set in stone. I do hope to see this series though. It would be epic.

Playing the best in February and playing the best in May and June are vastly different things. The big advantage of the Jamison deal is that it just adds to the versatility of this team. The Cavs have been better this year against the best teams in the Association than they were last year. I still think that teams with big back courts can give the Cavs issues in a seven game series because while Delonte can punch above his weight class successfully, Mo Williams can not. But looking at the teams that the Cavs are likely to draw in the playoffs its unlikely that the Cavs would run into that situation outside of the finals. I still think that the Lakers are the most talented team in the NBA by a pretty wide margin, but they don't play hard every night because they don't have to in the regular season. They still have a massive hole at point guard, but the rest of the roster is good enough to make that irrelevant.

A very nice move for the Cavs. I can't let this sway me from my preseason pick of Celtics-Lakers. At least I think I picked that, it's lost in the JJ Huddle black hole.

I remember the one year in the playoffs when we beat the Wizards, but Jamison averaged 32 ppg and 10 rpg in that series.. It was just a few years ago..

Jamison will see 30+ MPG in the playoffs. He's a beast. Seriously, stop..

I voted for the Cavs obviously, but if they both meet in the Finals, it'll be a hell of a series.. Seriously..

LA is the defending champs, and they should be recognized as such until dethroned.

I hope the Cavs win. I really do...and I hope that Z is around to enjoy the moment. He's given a lot of himself to the Cleveland franchise and he deserves it. All that being said, the Cavs will be hard pressed to down the Lakers. Crazy things happen when Championships are being contended for and any time the Lakers are playing Kobe is out there, and he can do amazing things on a regular basis in huge games. Advantage Lakers. Again, I sincerely hope that I am wrong.

Wow Footwedge, you're officially off your rocker if you really believe that. You can't be a real Cavs fan if you haven't remembered that EVERY TIME we played the Wizards in the last 4-5 years, Jamison has absolutely destroyed us. Including the playoffs.

And the whole Lakers being the favorites until they are beaten thing is retarded. That isn't how being the "favorite" works. Tell Vegas that. They are the champions until someone knocks them off, but not necessarily the favorites.

Even though I think they are still the favorites, because I still think that's the most stacked roster in the league although this deal for Jamison certainly pulls the Cavs closer. But it isn't about what's on paper, so we'll see.

The last time Boston won it all....Leon Powe was playing everyday....and kicking ass I might add. Jamison is what? 33 years old? All I know is what the stat sheet says. Powe is a better shooter and a better defender than Jamison. He is a better rebounder per minute...especially at the offensive end.

Mark it down...Jamison will not play much in the playoffs....and if he does, then the Cavs are in trouble.

As much as I love Ferry, this trade is much ado about nothing ...but a tacit nod to LBJ...that we as management, are trying to accomodate you.

LTrain....Antawn Jamison for his playoff career has an overall shooting percentage of 443 and a behind the arc percentage of a below average 360.

Pretty poor if you ask me.
