Lindsey Jacobellis was competing in Gold Medal Snowboard Cross competition at the '06 games, where she had a first place 140-ft lead, approaching the end of the course.

Only moments away from the Gold for which she' d been training so hard, she decided to "hot-dog it" and attempt a method grab. She ate snow and was passed by a Swiss rider.

Jacobellis recieved the Silver.......

Cool story bro, I know. What lesson can we take away from this???

She truly f'ed up, no question. Then she spends the next four years preparing for the '10 games and biffs through a course marker going out of bounds in the medal qualifying round.

Think of all the endorsment scratch she would have had.

Karma is a real bitch.
